Wednesday August 5, 2015 An exit poll
conducted by a South African firm has
confirmed that if elections were held today,
President Uhuru Kenyatta would be reelected
by a landslide of 79.2%.
The poll, which was conducted by TNS,
indicates that Raila Odinga could come
2nd with 15% and other Presidential
candidate will follow with insignificant
figures.
The poll was conducted between July 19 to 25 and over 6,500 respondents were
interviewed.
Many of those who were interviewed said they trust President Uhuru Kenyatta
more than CORD leader Raila Odinga because Uhuru has demonstrated that he is
a "principled man" and not a "hypocrite" like Raila Odinga.
The poll was conducted in a period that included that week the US President
Barrack Obama was in the country for a three day state visit.
Obama’s visit is said to have bolstered Uhuru’s performance in the poll especially
the bashing of opposition leaders by US president.
Before he left the country, Obama even confessed that he had been misled by
Kenya’s opposition on Uhuru’s governance.
Washington promised to work hand in hand with his government
