IT IS TIME FOR REAL-POLITICKS

The right honourable Raila Amolo Odinga will not ascend to State House in the current political dispensation. He knows it. Everyone knows it.

All he can do is play the disgruntled, sinned against card. The President of the United States of America, in his recent visit, has proved that this is also getting tiresome. He told Rt. Hon. Odinga so to his face.

“Current Political Dispensation” is the key phrase here. Perhaps there is an alternative.

Indulge me.

Introduction:

Rt. Hon. Odinga is effective in what he does. He knows it. We know it. I personally did not know about Road Reserves and Highway By-Passes until he become the Minister for Public Works in the First Kibaki Regime.

Images of a bulldozer trying to pull down an affluent man’s mansion that encroached on a road reserve are still fresh in my mind.

In this regard, a situation where he got back this ability to serve Kenyans without Kenyans carrying the insidious load of “his” people’s mentality would be so welcome.

This “Tyranny of Numbers” Thing

The 2017 erections seems to belong to President Uhuru Kenyatta to loose. It seems the only thing in question is his majority numbers in winning.

The perceived centrepiece of this win has its bedrock in that the Agikuyu will not vote for any other tribesman other than a Mugikuyu.

Beat the Agikuyu

For the Rt. Hon. Odinga to win in 2017, he needs a strategy to beat the Agikuyu. In my opinion, to do this, he has no choice but to divide their votes.

He has to put a Mugikuyu in State House who shall serve his interest and those of his people.

I know of only one other Mugikuyu who detests President Uhuru Kenyatta’s residence at State House as Rt. Hon. Odinga does. That is Hon. Martha Wangari Karua.

Martha Karua Tosha

It has happened twice. Once with the Senior Kenyatta with The Senior Odinga declaring Kenya would accept no leader other than the Senior Kenyatta. Second was the Kibaki Tosha declaration that led to the first Kibaki Regime.

It is time for a third time. It is time for Martha Karua Tosha.

With the Martha Karua Tosha declaration, the good Mugikuyu would have an alternative to take to State House. The rule of law would have an advocate in President Karua’s hands.

Those who voted for President Kenyatta for lack of a better option would have one now. The Mugikuyu voted for President Kenyatta for all the wrong reasons. That is now behind us. It has become a non-issue to paraphrase the new cliché.

The Bright Side of Martha Karua Tosha

Good things happened to Kenya during the first Kibaki Regime. With Martha Karua Tosha, these see expounding upon.

The lessons learnt during the MOU Kibaki Tosha Regime would be put to practice. Each of the Tribal Chieftains would get a Cabinet Seat and continue to exercise unfettered dominance of such Ministries.

Hon. Michuki and Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru have shown how this can see effective practice.

Amen?

Once the Martha Karua Tosha mentality has set in, what remains are the details of making this happen. Question is: will the Rt. Hon. Odinga do it for a third time?

Are he and his people willing to remain out of government for another five-year term?

Dwell on it.

'Kenya' is essentially, a subjective experience, and a better subjective experience has a lot to do with changing my thinking, and how I live.

Today in my dream, I ate fried human breast. Matiti fry.

Some organisms thrive in hostile conditions, and probably grow bigger than in less hostile conditions . . .

Not much more to add...We just need to stop thinking that the west has answers to our problems.

Our politics is that of greed and entitlement

Quote:

As I have often argued in this column, I do not think that there is a real marked difference between the various players in “our” political class.

By and large they are all the same and they look at issues with the same lenses whether they are in or out of government.

Ours is a political culture of the worship of big money and the cult of following individual tribal chiefs and not one of philosophical ideas and the good of all.
