The difference is that the word 'cardio' is an accurate description of what you are achieving with the workout, while 'fat burning' is not an accurate description.

When you are running on those treadmills or stairmasters or whatever, you can see how many calories you have burned. Half an hour of running will burn about 100-300 calories, depending on the intensity. That is the equivalent of one soda ndogo. Negligent fat loss. Therefore you are doing more of increasing cardiovascular capacity on those machines, not burning fat. For burning fat, you are better off changing your diet.

Let's say two people running on a treadmill, one is running in the cardio option, and the other one is running in the fat burning option.
Same speed and equal amount of time, at the end of, what will the two have achieved.

EAT LAST FOOD AT 6PM.
SLEEP FOR 8 HOURS.
MORNING NGLORY.

The rest of the writings on those treadmills are marketing gimmick, juts do a 40 minute run 5 times a week at 10km/h to have a good blood flow for a stronger steak!

this is true, however if at your BMR u consume x calories, doing cardio and burning 300 calories will create a metabolic deficit of 300 calories...so assuming your diet is in check cardio should act as the icing on the cake...my kes 0.02
