Clearly most of us don't think past politics. Sadly politics has never and will never build Kenya

the tense is past.... Kenya is not yet 'BUILT' so everyone you are talking about should be 'building'. I would put Michael Joseph and James Mwangi in that list. The bidco guy and Nakumatt family are also 'doing stuff'.

Part of Kenya is Built...Yes, Michael Joseph qualifies and Atul Shah he changed how Kenyans shop.

5. George and Charles Hurst - Founders of Kenya Breweries

6. Njeri Rionge - Wananchi online.

why? wananchi online? it think we confuse 'pioneering' with being successful and changing peoples lives inside out and making a sizable contribution to the economy. All those teachers who taught certains schools should not be on this list! all those people who pioneered something should not be on this list... it should be a list of people who built stuff that changed how we did business and made substantial changes to the kenyan economy.

Yes Masukush, she built Wananchi online and brought internet to the local mwananinchi, its her who made cyber cafes and surfing fashionable in Kenya. Without Wananchi online the internet craze in this country could be different. Remember Ford did not make the first car in America rather brought the car to the people with Model T (Mass production)

The Men who built America doesn't include akina Thomas Edison, George Washington, Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, etc. Tukuwe serious hapa bana. The Men who built America were five. Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, J.P. Morgan and Henry Ford. Why not the rest? In equal regard, who can we say built Kenya? Or perhaps hawajazaliwa...

That was the first series on the History Channel. I expect more to come. Edison's company was partly bought by JP Morgan and the company was later renamed Edison General Electric Company. I expect them to explain the rivalry that developed between JP and Rockefeller. Washington was a politician and politicians don't build countries rather they formulate policies
