Our idiot leaders.......they delete the clause on stepping aside if convicted.....MPs are up in arms and have vowed to oppose impunity from the floor of the house......Dear me..!!The deadline is Thursday after which it will be the Hague all the way..........Talk about putting a noose around your own neck!!!.........

doesn't the hurried manner in which these pigs are executing this process a sure indicator of what we already know and really expect? Political protectionism here at play...and at best....eventually no convictions....damn them!!!!

There's a petition going round mandating your/our MPs NOT to endorse a local tribunal.
Please sign so that for the first time in our history we can finally get some 'big fish'.

The argument by the proponents of the local tribunal is that only the big fish will be made to answer while the small fish get away. Now let's think about it...... daaahhhh!,haven't KACC and the AG proven their might and efficiency on investigating and prosecuting that fish???

So as the thread title it's 'Hague here we come!'

If you find yourself and some of the chief suspected contents of the famous envelope on the same side supporting the Hague,you better get another think coming.

Hague = no justice . Ask somebody about ICTR,or the success of cases already presented at the ICC. Isn't Bashir a free man todate?

@bambam,justice for me is not sending someone to jail,it is international naming and shaming and making sure that person never holds political office! Local solutions will never work as who've shamefully proven that we are incapable of handling murder (Ouko) or theft (Goldenburg) cases.

Even with your version of justice,tell me which between Hague and Local will be better achieve it.

Bashir is still out eating,drinking and having sex,nothing came out of the Milosevic case,Taylor same thing. ICTR even worse. although we cannot rule out political engineering if we chose a local solution - like has already and expectedly so began with the 'no leave office if named BS',I would still support more noise and heckling to be directed at waterproofing a local tribunal than going with the Hague.

@bambam,
Which Kenya judge would even be competent enough to listen to this case?
I have absolutely no confidence in our judicial system. Yaani mpaka Bro Paul had the guts to run for a parliamentary seat after the Bosire soap opera.

Bam,

Can't say i get you when you say Milosevic and Taylor's case have shown nothing.Milosevic died in detention before a verdict was reached,while Taylor and the likes of Pierre Bemba and Radovan Karadzic are still cooling off in detention.........of course there are those who have already been jailed such as the two Serbian generals who were handed a 22 year sentence each for war crimes in Kosovo..........That will never happen in Kenya and if you think otherwise,tell me of a Kenyan big fish who has ever been prosecuted and jailed.

I thought our Finance Minister mentioned something to do with cutting number of foriegn trips. The last time Ministers were in Geneva,there was hue and cry over the amount of money they spent. Geneva is now becoming a popular destination for Ministers. You only need a small excuse to go there as a minister.
