Those negative reviews will not 'harm' the hotel, this is Kenya, kama kawaida we'll soon forget all about what happened yesterday.

Are you sure about what you are saying? Who are the main target market for Weston? I promise they are people who take what's posted on trip adviser very seriously!!!!

C'mon @Doba man all they need to do is get several guys to post some positive reviews later on and they are back in business. Besides i think you need to look at reviews that are usually posted on trip advisor, if you took some of them seriously you wouldn't visit any hotel in Kenya.

......have you asked yourself why the hotel industry is suffering? Don't assume that every other person in the world doesn't heed free advices posted on internet, you can't say this will not affect them, of cause it will!!!!!

Taz is very right...I remember after the bombing of Norfolk hotel sometime back a couple of days later and the it was back to business...

Teargassing some demonstrating children in the grabbed school compound has no bearing on the very existence of the Weston hotel and the visitors security in it...
...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

Some of us need to get out a bit more. You know, away from gikuyu-rand or even try an occasional visit to Amerrrrriiiikaaa.
Most whites always look at these reviews when booking...

Some of us never left gishagi.

So the hotel was wasting its time trying to get good reviews on Trip Advisor because it doesn't matter?

I hope they don't have some of the posters here as their marketers. Those reviews are damaging and they would do well to try and fix them now.

The internet never forgets. Kwanza those do gooder jungus will not take kindly to watching a picture of a girl screaming due to tear gas. But if you think its all ok, by all means, endeleeni.

They will lose some business, may be a lot even, but they will not collapse. The jungus take these reviews seriously, and a hotel with a muddied reputation like this they will pass up. In addition, there are NGOs and organizations who would have hosted delegates for conferences there but will not touch Weston cause of potential negative publicity. These conferences, workshops and meetings for groups of corporate/aid/NGO types are nice earners for hotels.
I hope the reviewers keep the bashing momentum up.

Nice Space. Carved out of the adjacent Langata Primary School offers spacious rooms and top notch amenities. Mind the tear gas and the screaming children though. Very secure owing to heavy anti riot police presence

I stayed for 2 nights during my flight complications.
It was nice, until I was investigated the history of the area and found out that the hotel used to be a playground for kids. The kids protested and got tear gassed and some even charged and sent to prison (law charges kids as adults after the age of 8). As a professional international investigator, I did more research and found out some atrocious facts. I am now going to pass this on to some writers in the US to expose this senseless act.

Room Tip: You will be sleeping on a location were literally kids fought to keep their playground and were actu...

Btw the so called bashing has only 3 negative reviews, Trip advisor is a marketing tool for hotels.....i hope you'll all visit the site around April or August to check the reviews!
