“Hon Chesang delivered a ruling without hearing the actual application for contempt, convicted the applicant after 4pm despite the applicant having been present in court since morning and with the deliberate intention of denying the applicant any reasonable opportunity of raising the fine of Sh2 million or purging the alleged contempt upon which he had been convicted in complete breach of all rules of natural justice.”

While @Jeff Koinange comfortably paid his 2 Million bail and walked free man, @Gachoka was made to eat a few beans in the cellars...he should know he is poor and cant play in the big league.

This issue of contempt can be very expensive it seems,jeffs 2.1million goes just like that!
Are there any guidelines for such fines ?

I agree with you. Plus look at it this way, through "ukichwa ngumu" yake, he still has his 2m in his account.

I bet he can't. Tony is notoriously known to be a broke a*se, plus in many similar cases, once friends often help raise the cash. I suspect even Tony's best friends would be reluctant to lend him the cash coz its return is not guaranteed

Corruption is fighting back. The "thieves" want to enjoy the loot in peace without any noise from 'wanjiko'....using the courts to shut up wanjiko. Sad!
