Wacheni fitina mingi. What @bigchick probably bought are eggs from kari improved chicken. Though the shell looks like that of layers, thy're very much kienyeji eggs. The breed is a fast growing, disease resistant chicken. I think farmers should brand their eggs and identify the breed. This is the breed of the future though established exotic breeders are fighting it.

Most off these laboratory "genetically altered" eggs contain traces of antibiotics and will need dawa one way or another, so not only the diet matters. Whether kari or whatever, even though these hi-breeds are improvements from the typical kizungu layer chicken, they have a host of issues behind them. for example you cannot hatch your own eggs and become a slave to kari, kuroiler, kenchic, kenbro(6 kilo chicken) or whoever for chicks or fertilized eggs. If you want to invest in your health and wealth long term, go for pure kienyeji ( organic free range). It may take time to develop your supply of chickens and eggs but i can guarantee you one thing, the price is skyrocketing (globally), it is common to see a real kienyeji of 2.5 kilos selling for 1,500/=, even in markets in oshago leave Nairobi (a similar broiler is 400/-, and if you ever get into export in the future (very possible), you will be laughing all the way....
