Good riddance. He was so selfish, such that he could do anything to remain in power.

Sigh. If the country was previously in turmoil, how could one fail to see that a slide back to turmoil could be short and quick?

It is only a leader who is a "FOOL" who takes his country in this direction.

There is only one person to blame the "FOOL"

Storo I was getting from my pals in the Buju. say initially Uncle Samo had prevailed on the prezo to quit and he had agreed bora tu angepewa USD 3m as well. But his no. 2, 3, 4 etc were not amused and asked where their cut was? So long as he remained in the capital, he remained hostage and was 'forced' to keep his bid alive.
Really, after all these yrs its only about chums?

But methinks if he was patriot he could easily have fled into exile..
Useless leader who thought he was worth more than the very survival of a nation.

Maj. Gen Niyombare, the most respected General behind the Def min, a Hutu and a former CNDD rebel commander who was known for his humanity often letting govt soldiers go as he had no problem with them. He was ambassador to Kenya, then head of the SNR, State Security body. He wrote a private letter to Nkurunziza begging him for the sake of the country to leave when his term was due, PN sacked him and put his crony, so he had fair warning
