Nothing like too early to tell, get it from us.......Sonko has no chance in either side, he can't stand on his own.....SIMPLE!!!!

Sonko received the third highest number of votes (all candidates) in the last election.

Imagine the damage he could do to JAP if they pissed him off and he had to look for another vehicle. Or, better yet, imagine the salivation from CORD at the prospect of lading such a prize. They would bend over backwards to accommodate him (maybe including throwing Kidero under the bus).

As long as he keeps his core base (which he is doing with all those 'Rescue this,' 'Bling bling that'...initiatives) Sonko can not be beat.

JAP needs him more that he needs the party and I am sure they know this, which is why they put up with all his shenanigans and they will continue to do so.

You want Sonko inside the tent pissing out, not outside the tent pissing in.

Sonko received a higher number of votes because CORD had no serious candidate for that seat. otherwise he would not have picked more than 700K votes.

But as we say.. lets wait and see...

Boss, unless is a battle of drug lords, no one stood a chance of beating Sonko, not even RAO himself. He used the 'serikali saidia' thing to his advantage. As of now, he is the people's governor in Nairobi.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Like Shebesh saying she got more votes than majority of Governors and thus she can be president. Senator was never a substantive position for Sonko to be blocked, even those his shenanigans will be stopped if need be!!!!

The only way to stop Sonko is to make sure he does not get on the ballot. Jubilee are not likely to make such a mistake, and risk the negative fallout. Surely it must be dawning on them that the next election is not likely to be the cakewalk they have often boasted about. The fate of one, Goodluck Jonathan could not have gone unnoticed. They will need every help they can get.

Whatever they do, they will not give him Nairobi to run, when Walker kemead him on labour day, did the people revolt????.....Smell the coffee!!!!!

I stopped reading your post at "...negative fallout".Which fallout can Sonko have or create?sonko is a nobody

Fallout as in 500K voters threatening to take a walk, causing all sorts of realignments and CORD strategists waiting in the wings to receive them. Fallout as in Uhuruto losing their pedigree as the digital, party of youth.

You think YT2 run away from Nairobi because he is a coward?

You need to wake up and smell the tea. Sonko and RAO are the only two politicians who can count on block political fans and Sonko's is more potent because it is demographic, cutting across ethnic groups.

One question: say you are the chief strategist of JAB; why would you want to pick a fight with a wacky but largely trusted lieutenant when you know life is about to get so much more difficult for you?

Wakanyugi, I think you are losing the plot here. any strategist worth their 2 cents would tell you that presidential voting patterns are completely de-linked from the other posts. There is nothing Sonko brings to JAP that Uhuru does not already have. Nairobi basically splits 2 ways right down the middle, RAO-UK. Hizo demographics zako end at the senate/governor race.

So for UK, he is better off clawing the Luhya and Kisii blocks from Cord. And he seems to be actively working on that.

I think it is you guys who have bought into the Jubilee hype. You know that narrative about how Uhuruto will rule until 2022. Don't buy it.

Jubilee is going to have a real fight come 2017 - courtesy of their incompetence, especially in matters security and corruption. If you think they will chose the middle of a political fight to alienate vote geters, you give give their strategists too little credit.

And no, just because Uhuru spoke out for Kidero does not mean he loves/likes him. Kidero has even less to bring to the political table than Sonko and he will not be running for Nairobi Governor anyway.

@Wakanyugi, I do agree they will have a fight which in my opinion, they will win comfortably unless RAO can get Western and Coast to perform better.

The point is Sonko is non factor in this fight, he is at best a mobilizer/rubble rouser used in Nairobi for cat fights.

I am one who hopes this supposed Investment Banker runs for Governor so I can vote for him regardless of his tribe, Kidero is not hacking it.
