My colleague in the analysis dept has looked at the voting patterns and statistics.. even if he goes past the Paty nomination, say JAP. he still cannot beat a Mundu wa Nyumba who stands independently of Big Party politics on an Agano party.

Fact: He has no backing of from the middle class and upper classes, so lets say that is 25% of votes gone
Fact: He only crows in Eastlands slums, remove the Kiberas, Kawangware and Kangemi areas
Fact: Within those areas in Eastlands, tribe will overide gifts.. If a Mundu wa Nyumba stands those votes are his.. If a CORD guys is still there ODM, those votes are his
Fact: Kidero within the election year will match Sonko shilling for a shilling in campaigns and freebies..

The guys will die of shock.

Famous last words.

News update: Waititu just steamrolled the field in Kebeteshire

A Sonko win as an independent candidate will be the demise of tribal politics in Nairobi.
Its all good.

Sonko received the third highest number of votes (all candidates) in the last election.

Imagine the damage he could do to JAP if they pissed him off and he had to look for another vehicle. Or, better yet, imagine the salivation from CORD at the prospect of lading such a prize. They would bend over backwards to accommodate him (maybe including throwing Kidero under the bus).

As long as he keeps his core base (which he is doing with all those 'Rescue this,' 'Bling bling that'...initiatives) Sonko can not be beat.

JAP needs him more that he needs the party and I am sure they know this, which is why they put up with all his shenanigans and they will continue to do so.

You want Sonko inside the tent pissing out, not outside the tent pissing in.

Sonko received a higher number of votes because CORD had no serious candidate for that seat. otherwise he would not have picked more than 700K votes.

But as we say.. lets wait and see...

Boss, unless is a battle of drug lords, no one stood a chance of beating Sonko, not even RAO himself. He used the 'serikali saidia' thing to his advantage. As of now, he is the people's governor in Nairobi.
