Alshabaab means ' the youth' thus, literally speaking, every Muslim youth is 'alshabaab'. The aim of the terrorists is to play with the perceptions and minds of Muslim youth and recent converts, such that joinin or being alshabaab seems like a logical obligation for the youth. Indeed, they make these youths take or seek pride being refered as alshabaab. Hence, a name change will start changing perceptions and mindsets of the youths, and we'll start seeing fewer numbers getting deceived.
