Eish! Things are not what we just read. Imagine a Somali man holding such weapons in Nairobi or Nakuru ,,,,, wait, he already has AK47.

These images are chilling. Urban meets barbaric warfare.

Yes, Kenya is in a sad state with Shabab.

Looks like Kenya in 2007/8. They learnt from us.

Heartbreaking 😥 Look at that family.

Sad and regrettable especially from black targeting black while sparing other races in Africa. Well it's a lesson learned that if as a black African we sought out sh*t in our countries , we shall gain respect and tolerance from our hosts

Many of the photos circulating including some posted here actually have nothing to do with the current xenophobia attacks.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

The first quote that you have quoted is xenophobic.

You need to explain why you say the other two quotes are xenophobic, as you rephrased them from my post, which is just saying what is actually going on in the ground. The action "Violence", the reason "Jealousy".

"If you notice, the attacks are mainly in the slum areas. The local folk are lazy, and they get jealous when the hard working foreigners are making it. Apartheid instilled the culture of violence.".

Listen to a pro "foreigners must go home" explain the reasons.

South Africans who are asking foreigners to leave because of unemployment and crime needs a head transplant but a Kenyan asking somali's to leave because of increased terrorism is patriotic!!!!

This world is very unfair!

If taking away one's employment opportunities is a form of killing them.

Or economic jihad.

Or 'punishment' for having some 'equipment' and 'personnel' in one's country of origin.

I don't know.

@Mureil "Economic Jihad" LOL! Valid points you got there.

@Sewani, Tycho & Masukuma

The difference between the two scenarios is like day and night. You cannot put the two scenarios at par.

Will dwell on theses keywords. "Foreigners", "Unemployment", "Crime" and "Terrorism".

In S.A, the term "foreigners" refers to black African migrants (e.g. From Zimbabwe, Angola, Eritrea, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan etc...) they are being killed and are wanted out of the country, while Kenya is not chasing nor killing African migrants. There are refugees in Kenya from several countries. Kenya wants Somali refugee camps to be relocated, for the reason that the gov gave. The refugees still get fed and such, not abandoned.

Most of these foreigners in S.A are not employed, but are self-employed. S.A. locals claiming that foreigners are taking jobs is a huge lie. S.A locals are unemployed because they have not decided to self-employ themselves, but are blaming foreigners.

In all countries, crime gets committed by natives as well as migrants. In S.A locals want foreigners (African Migrants) to leave the country because of crime, while in Kenya, that's not the case. There are criminals in Kenya from other nations, yet Kenya is not expelling migrants from different nations because of crime. Kenya wanting the refugee camp relocated is but dealing with a specific terrorist gateway. Terrorists whom I need not explain what they have done, nor what they have vowed to do.

How can you tell the Gov to up security, then when it attempts to, you are telling the gov not to? You need to explain yourselves.

Hope that you can now see that you cannot put the two scenarios at par. S.A. Locals need a brain transplant.

The narrative is the same D32...How is chasing foreigners away because of isolated cases of crime committed by foreigners different from closing a refugee camp because of a few somali's involved in terrorism?

In any case, most of the terrorist activities which have happened here in kenya have been committed by Kenyans including non somalis who have never stepped in a refugee camp.

@D32, truth is what justifies our experience and motivates us to action. Consequently, everything can be defended or explained away easily. (Oh! There's that gimmick of 'objectivity' coming out with the rabbit from the hat).

That's why I have been curious to know if there are optimal precepts of reason that can be applied universally.

Absolutely, D32.

Don't mind my brothers, sometimes they like posturing to see if you will blink first.

Some time ago we saw a news reporter being mugged on live tv. Obviously with a such get-rich-quick mindset, no matter how fickle, the criminal will extend his reasoning to accuse others of having it while he doesn't. He will also accuse third parties for his circumstances.

Preparing for the race war

Quote:
Deep in rural South Africa, a terrifying white supremacist movement is brainwashing teenagers to rise up in defiance of Nelson Mandela's hard-fought dream of a Rainbow Nation.
The far-right Afrikaner Resistance Movement (AWB) is training thousands of youths in military-style bootcamps northwest of Johannesburg to fight for a separate white state.
By day, they are pushed to their physical limits with assault courses and self-defence lessons, all the while being told of the danger from 'the millions of blacks trying to kill you'.
Then by night, they are subjected to vile racist indoctrination which many hoped had disappeared from South Africa for good.

I think what is happening here is being generalised! we are using broad strokes to color 40 million people. We say... These Black South Africans - have we met all of them? from social media we can see a good number of them very ashamed of the behaviours of their country men. I myself often falls victim to the urge to generalize... THESE PEOPLE.... have I met all 'these people'? do I know them personally? Why should I be quick to label a whole community as 'Angry' (which I do quite often), 'Uneducated' (which I rarely say but sometimes think)? What makes me an authority in matters South Africa? I have visited SA more times than I have visited any other country in the world and I still don't have 'friends' there... why is this? is it a problem with me or with them? Perhaps we need to stop the violence (both verbal and physical) and know each other better. My considered opinion is... South Africans are no worse than Any other group of people that walks the planet. If things go wrong... especially economically - it's easier to point to the smaller, distinct group of people (that does not intermingle with the larger set of persons) and claim that they are the cause of all our 'suffering'. The Jews were blamed for the black death, the economic problems of germany in the 1930s. it's happening in Europe now... parties like the National Front in France, UKIP in UK are getting persons on their side -why? it's easy to blame a small distinct group of people (who statistically seem to be doing better than majority of the population) for the problems of the larger society. UG blamed Indians, The nordic countries are having 'immigration issues', Switzerland passed a law last year that limits immigrant access to certain facilities. I have monitored setiments in Kenya for a while... The somalis have gotten more businesses in the city.... I remember hearing prayers in church once (or was it a preaching?) from a certain lady who talked about 'They'...
Quote:
'they' have taken over nairobi... but 'they' will not take over kenya'

We have started moving these sentiments from the churches to WhatsApp groups - I am sure most of you have recieved some whatsapp msg about Australian PM Julia Gillard and how she should be made queen of the world or how islamic jihad has engulfed the world unawares
my point?
Racism, Nationalism, Tribalism, Clanism are all the same - if you suffer from 1 - you suffer from the same disease (only that the group of people you hate may be smaller or larger).
How can we cure this ill? Travel... and not to the US but rather to 'these' people... live with them and you may discover that Mark Twain was right when he said
Quote:
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.
All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
