Our fellow students were left to die because of negligence by senior officials.

I don't know how you guys are feeling but for me, i am really feeling rage and i don't how to control it.
Today i saw the first Garissa attack victim being laid to rest and had only reached 21. It is so painful! The Nairobi Mirror

I believe the response was appropriate. The military went in, evacuated students, pinned back the gunmen, collected info, then Recce came in and neutralised them. The siege was over in 10 hours as opposed to Westgate. some of the forces lost their lives in the siege. I think they did well, sieges have been known to last longer.
Life is short. Live passionately.

No no no !!!!! . The guys cornered the terrorists and essentially since they did not go into the building they gave cover to the terrorist to Kill students one by one for over 10hrs.

They needed to do something to have the terrorist run for their life’s , instead the terrorists walked all over from one room to the other room, wardrobe from wardrobe, floor from floor.

I assure you they did not even care since no one was entering the building to have one of them stand at the door to keep off any one.

I am sure you now see how bad the situation looks. BAAAAAAAAADDD

We need a disaster management/rapid response command -during terrorists attacks whoever is in charge of it can order and marshall resources from anybody in Kenya's armed forces, the airforce, army and navy -yes. Even Karangi or the future Karangi should eat any directive coming from the command's leader.
Then squads like Recce need to be deployed all over the country, realistically, a squad in each of what were the former provincial headquarters would be a start. That is 8 squads. With 2 helicopters each for starters, several vehicles and other equipment, get a budget line that should never dry up or be exposed to the moronic haranguing of parliament, and constantly audit them to assess the state of permanent readiness.
This isn't too much to swing is it, Mr President?
Does anyone in the bureaucracy ever use their brains?

I agree. Biggest failure was KDF

You camp outside and do nothing as those Islamic brutes leisurely kill. There was no one to divert their attention as the kdf were just spectators

Before you tellme that tale of jeshi not being suited for urban warfare, remember lives were being lost and earliest distress calls were at 5.30am

remember also kdf are among the few experts in gun handling in Kenya. surely those jinga islamist brutes being screwed by the devil's male virgins cannot be better trained than kdf

na tulichukia m7 when he called them career army!

The People today main story claims the available police aircraft was engaged in a private mission in Msa

Kenya Police's 4 choppers were grounded

But recce logisticsaside, the main issue is kdf

It is so sad. I heard that KDF just camped outside, they didn't go in. True, they they surrounded the terrorist, but what about the students were inside with the "animals"? Who made that kind of decision!

KDF should not have gone to the scene in the first place. They broke the law by moving to the scene. Their work is to protect us internationally not going after 10 terrorists armed with AK 47 and knives!!!!!!!
