Of course. There need to be more arrests if staff there. The main organizer of the terror had relatives working there.

Talk of funerals in that area not arrests.

Those youth that went to Somalia and have not been involved in terror attacks, govt should give amnesty if they are willing to surrender. A sure many will give accounts of such harrowing experience in Somalia so much so that no other youth will want to go there. Or how does govt ever hope to win back youths who have been brainwashed / promised bliss in Somalia and actually expect so?

Once you join Alshabab you NEVER come out alive. They are very bruttle. no comms no frredom..you don't know what is happning next. ...just take orders as they are...you question you get a bullet. If they suspect you of thinking to leave....dead you are.The foot fellows know NOTHING totaly, they even don't know their current locations as they are moved under darkness cintinually. The only released are those confirmed purely indoctrinated fellows who are ready for suicidee missions. My brother if you here of A surrendered youth be wary. The only ones you can count on are the prisoners of war.
Boris, the long and short of my argument is that govt is failing terribly on strategy. You do not win the hearts of the youth by announcing measures that imply you actually expect attacks. You can only win by countering the indoctrination by rogue imams, and telling the true story of what happens in Somalia, or hell, is what would help. Let the govt become more innovative. The more you deny a kid something, the more they want it,unless you do some training. Moi started mwakenya to fight the 'dissidents', this is not a good example though, but he managed to instill fear and disdain for the 'dissidents' amongst the public
You may not win against propaganda wars if you do not become more innovative

Disenfranchisement or neglect or even corruption by successive governments is not an excuse.

North rift kwa akina Pokot etc is no better in terms of 'development' than North Eastern.

Corruption is as present with Marakwet as with Somali.

Yet they do not go to Kesses to kill students to Nairobi to kill shoppers or Turbo to kill teachers. Recognition that 'indoctrination' has a role to play is like awakening from a fitful sleep. Awakening to a nightmare. For a government limited by national boundaries cannot 'de-indoctrinate' youth whose ideology is not limited by national boundaries.

It may be time to buy us some time. This is like an unhappy, violent union. It's the children who suffer. Just my intimations.

How unfortunate. So many young lives cut short so senselessly. Very very sad. My heart is still heavy especially when i see their loved ones agonizing.

Alma,

There is no need to arrest them. They were killed. At least we are told. What use is there arresting dead people?

I do not preach. I am not in Mombasa and have no plans to go.

I do not need to ask anyone if a way is right when I know it is wrong.

You still have not answered my question. Was the administrator corrupt having failed to gather and forward intel that could have mitigated or prevented this crime, a crime done by his son maybe in his own house even?

I am not angry. An accurate description of facts is no indication of anger.

Muriel I will not answer your question. Deliberately because that will bring me to undermining and I don't have 200k for bail.

Muriel, someone knew there was an attack coming. Someone even warned some people it would happen. Someone did not safeguard the citizens. Infact I can't even tell you about the planes that did not have fuel. Even worse, someone had bombed before and his friends were never investigated. Yet someone's parents had warned that they were fearful about their children. Now you tell me. You are busy blaming a religion while someone ignored all the signs. So you tell me. No don't write it here. You will have the blogger brigade on your neck.

It's easy to blame the boogeyman. Its hard to face the truth. We failed. This gov't failed.

Symbols, yes Kenyans have accepted corruption as part of their lives. They will suffer the consequences. Even death.

As much as i agree that corruption is a big facilitator of terror plots to succeed, i cannot refute that the role religions play in terrorism is even bigger.
The desire to commit terror is mostly religiously driven by people whose minds have been brainwashed to believe that they are oppressed and their rights taken away. They are made to believe that revenge by terror is allowed intheir religion and has huge rewards inthe life after.
Corruption hinders the ability of security organs to identify and thwart terror plots.

The alshabab did not attack garissa university to punish kenya for being corrupt. If they bribed their way in, then it means they too are corrupt and have no moral right to condemn their corrupt counterparts

1. Qur’an 9:5 Kill the nonbelievers wherever you find them.
2. Qur’an 5:53 Jews and Christians are losers.
3. Qur’an (5:51) Don’t take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
4. Qur’an 4:91- If the unbelievers do not offer you peace, kill them wherever you find them. Against such you are given clear warrant.
5. Qur’an 9:7-9-Don’t make treaties with non-Muslims. They are all evildoers and should not be trusted.
6. Qur’an 9:12-14-Fight the disbelievers! Allah is on your side; he will give you victory.
7. Qur’an 2:191-2-Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.
8. Qur’an (5:51) - ”O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”
9. Qur’an (2:65-66) Christians and Jews must believe what Allah has revealed to Muhammad or Allah will disfigure their faces or turn them into apes, as he did the Sabbath-breakers.
10. Qur’an (4:48, 4:116)-Those who ascribe a partner to Allah (like Christians do with Jesus and the Holy Spirit) will not be forgiven. They have “invented a tremendous sin.”
11. Qur’an (4:51)-Jews and Christians believe in idols and false deities, yet they claim to be more rightly guided than Muslims.
12. Qur’an (5:80) – “You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide.” Those Muslims who befriend unbelievers will abide in hell.
13. Qur’an (3:85) - ”And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers.”
14. Qur’an 9:6-Those who submit and convert to Islam will be treated well. (Those who don’t submit will be killed. See previous verse.)
15. Qur’an 5:59 Jews and Christians are evil-livers.
16. Qur’an 5:63 Evil is the handiwork of the rabbis and priests.
17. Qur’an 5:72 Christians will be burned in the Fire.
18. Qur’an 5:73Christians are wrong about the Trinity. For that they will have a painful doom.
19. Qur’an 9:30Christians and Jews are perverse. Allah himself fights against them.
20. Qur’an 9:34 Give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom to the rich and greedy Christian monks and Jewish rabbis.
21. Qur’an 19:35-37“Woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day.”
Jesus was not the Son of God. Those who say he was (Christians) are going to hell.
22. Qur’an 28:62-64 Allah will taunt Christians on the day of their doom, saying: Where are My partners whom ye imagined?
23. Qur’an 40:73Allah will taunt the Christians in hell, saying: Where are all my parnters that you used to believe in?
24. Ishaq:364 “Muslims, take not Jews and Christians as friends. Whoever protects them becomes one of them, they become diseased, and will earn a similar fate.”
25. Qur’an 3:67 ”Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was a true Muslim, surrendered to Allah (which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.”
