Not for the faint hearted.

12 bodies in just 1 room. Final death toll will be very high.

70 dead 79 injured. Very sad.

and what we have been saying is that the whole area is safe!
truth be told ,all the senior police officers who have served in that area for the last ten years resign, then declare the whole area operation area permanent not curfew.
Then have four layers of security, one military, two gsu, three ap and police, four the county gov.
Thanks
tell me where a curfew worked apart from theft of property!

Please, please, please. Let us get a few things straight. The cops have definately learnt from Westgate. If it wasn't for the officers who kept off the terrorists at the onset of the attack and the swift response of the KDF on scene later backed up then tactically led by Recce Squad, this casualty list would be a lot higher. Armoured vehicles and tanks are used to prevent VBIEDs used for follow up attacks or rescue missions by the terrorists. I salute the fallen officers.

@ecstacy information is no longer controlled by the gov't.

There were two security officers at the gate. Thank God for the initial security officers who turned up after the attack and lost their lives. Heros.

As for the gov't, how many more Kenyans are going to die before something is done about our security system? Is there a rolling number with a red line somewhere?

Did you just see the equipment that those police officers had to carry with them fighting merciless Al Shabaab? Did you see the shoes the cop was forced to wear in this operation?

Now you add another 10k officers by decree. But don't give these heros the tools to fight in the 21st century. A G3? Who has that contract?

It is a very sad day in this country and we are still in the mood to hide our heads under the sand.

The one good thing is that Nkaisarey behaved much better than that earlier cock up.

It's time to equip our cops tupende tusipende.

Makes no sense to have other countries saying that Garissa is about to be attacked and a university is about to be attacked, then come later to say you didn't know. There's is only one university in Garissa for crying out loud. Someone somewhere should have been clever enough to see this coming. Even with leaflets yesterday about an attack the next day in Garissa.

Utterly depressing this gov't.

RT @ItsMutai: Security Alert: Garissa Unv Attack most likely a decoy for a major attack in Nairobi. The terrorists could be around South C. #GarissaAttack
