This thread is for those who deal in parchment coffee. I am a farmer who has been selling my coffee directly to the Nairobi Coffee Exchange but i feel the returns are more of a rip off. I am interested in connecting with people who have access to the export market or have ideas on how my produce can fetch me prices that reward my effort.

Ugandan farmers have poor quality coffee but they get better returns for their produce than Kenyan farmers. I am open to ideas.

Source for market in the US/Europe.Competition is stiff but a number of kenyans are exporting green coffee beans to those 2 destinations.
Once you got market,contact me.We've got the licence to export.
Wishing you the best.

@matatuman,
Have you tried contacting commercial attaches at Kenyan missions abroad?

But yes I do.They ship from their licensed warehouses to far destinations through licenced exporters.
@ Chaka,check out coffee exporters requirements with the concerned bodies.After you've met the requirements and identified market we can talk.:)

Selling at the coffee exchange depends on the coffee available to market also the marketer you are using may be giving you a raw deal.If you are in Nyeri county the governor got some buyers from the USA. Out of curiosity who is your marketer or do you sell your coffee directly in the exchange

@matatuma, I might be able to assist with the coffee biz. What's your current status on the issue?

On a different note, where are Kenyans who are making chocolate sourcing their cocoa from? I have seen several startups in the local media and shops (like www.kisses.co.ke) now but I understand sourcing from west africa requires one to buy in tonnes the same way we export tea and coffee.
