If nothing has gone on in two years, what will happen in three? Traffic is just one problem, master plans do not matter if they are not put into action. We all know how those go.

Having a master plan is one step fwd. Its better than working/implementing without one. A ship with no radar sails in any direction

Who has seen this master plan? I twitted him and requested that he posts it on the county website, nil response.

@ fyatu, we already gave him the chance in 2013, but this does not mean we forfeited our right to recall him or complain when things are not right. For instance how do you wake up suddenly and declare that all roundabouts on Uhuru high way will be converted to tee junctions, no study, public consultations no nothing. And remember this is an international trunk road not county road

@lima, it's not T-junctions. It's removing roundabouts. Now find out how the flow will be. I think's gona improve, just like how city roads were made one way.
yes but these roundabout have been there all along and no one ever conceived this brilliant idea? Even when you get an 'Eureka!' moment, at least get someone to do a traffic study, design, etc to validate otherwise we will just be doing experiments

Yes, nothing is new. Everyday new ways of doing things are discovered. So this one is not anything strange.
Your problem is too much assumptions. Who told you there was no traffic study, design etc? Many times I have passed roundabouts and I see young girls and boys seated ticking some forms as they watch the traffic.

There are no designs at the time of announcement, infact that's when he said a study will be done. And of young boys with forms, what were these for? Sounds too 18th century

He he he.

He should meet my University Professor!!!

I remember how he used to get pissed off when some students presented concept papers for their thesis.

"Some of you already have solutions and are now busy looking for a problem!!!"

Kumbe Kidero is one of them!!

The study is the one that should bring to light possible solutions and then the best one chosen based on empirical evidence!!!

I would be interested in knowing how the T Junctions will be different from those at Yaya, Riverside drive and the one down there near Kileleshwa? They must be different if this has to work. Sometimes the middle class locks each other for hours in those junctions just because no one wants to give way. Everyone is so much in a hurry that breaking for 5seconds is too much to ask, making everyone spend hours there and making Kidero lose 5gms of Weetabix.

There is a lot of confusion at those junctions I would choose round abouts any day and twice on Sunday!!!

Where possible (space might be an issue) the best way out would be underpasses/overpasses. On my way from Westlands to the Airport, why should a fellow from the CBD to Hurlingham interfere with my movement and vice versa???

A living example of a t-junction that works in Nairobi can be found on Juja rd/Park rd intersection but still what is traffic police business where there are robots controlling traffic?? Is it a case of traffic police trying to remain relevant in a "digital" world. Traffic police are only relevant on highways to check overspeeding and reckless driving...but in special cases to check on those who jump lights in a working robot system
