James Kanyotu's fortune is worth over Ksh 15 billion including the Limuru country club. See pic below. Mr Kanyotu, Kenya’s longest- serving intelligence chief for 27 years, had until his retirement built an empire with extensive interests in hotels, banking, mining, insurance, real estate, aviation and large-scale farming.

Now keep in mind that up until the mid 1980s the top cop made about Ksh 15,000 per month

Fight over Kanyotu's billions

Sometimes I think that parents should share out their inheritance whilst still alive although that will not rule out cases of unfair 'disinheritance'.......

p.s. could not find the RIP thread for Kanyotu

C&P: "The scramble for former spy chief James Kanyotu’s multi-billion-shilling estate took a new turn in court this week as doubts arose over the parentage of some alleged family members, leading to an application to exhume his body for DNA testing.

The dispute is turning out to be a mega show of betrayal among putative family members, with a mother turning against her children, and the children turning against each other.

The latest row erupted after a DNA test by Dr John Mungai revealed that some of those claiming a share of his billions are not his children.

It escalated following the sale of a 1,400-acre farm in Nyandarua County for which the Kanyotu estate received over Sh300 million. The land is being used to create the Sh22 billion Mt Kipipiri Golf Resort.

The scramble for Kanyotu’s wealth started after his death in 2008, with some women claiming he had children with them and others saying they were his children borne out of wedlock and sought to be considered as beneficiaries.

Vast estate

Mr Kanyotu’s wealth is estimated to be over Sh20 billion and is invested in properties spread across the country including three investment companies – Half Moon, Full Moon and Cloud Limited."

Just to clarify, the picture above was his private home in Tigoni which was converted into a hotel after he died. I now understand, in that house he could have several airports in different rooms at the same time and each of them would think she is the only one being landed on.

Ya dunia, ni ya dunia. Guy stole and now his people (seems he was busy) are tearing down his estate.

Please. Kindly explain how thieves share out their wealth.

Ooops I'm undermining. I will let you believe that all that was "clean" inheritance. I have my own thoughts.

As for RIP

Honestly...Kila mtu? Kweli no one is going to hell? Its totally against Christian principles. Not everyone will RIP and some are more obvious than others.

Ask a fellow called JM Kariuki the story.

Head of intelligence. Had "intelligence briefs" on how to "intelligently" acquire wealth. He was from an era whose ethos was kulia mahala una kulia.

"Mr Kavuludi said officers who relied on their salaries were more exposed to corruption and urged them to venture into business and seek other sources of income."

Ndegwa commission, which was formed in the 70's by Mzee Kenyatta, cleared the way for civil servants to conduct business as they wished.
We can all see the results.
The best method of distributing wealth, is that of distributing principles of achievement by which wealth is procured.
