KQ did not handle the incident smartly, otherwise this would not have made the news. Hate or like Museveni, the man is a President of a country, he has power and influence, he can make things difficult for KQ, especially over the lucrative Nbo-Ebb route. You do not want to offend such a person. Have people forgotten their business smarts, only to be replaced by wet-behind-the-ears moralizing? Anyone who has run a business will tell you of customers who make outrageous requests, and for those that can do damage to your bottomline, you bend over backwards to accomodate them. Other companies do it, like banks availing managers in the middle of Saturday nights to the big whales, telcos gifting slick smartphones to influential bloggers,..etc etc. What Ngunze would have done and no one would be snipping at his heels is hire a chopper or two to collect Museveni from his home and KQ eats that cost, file it under "cost of doing business" or something like that. Or as an apology, they can hire a jet to fly Museveni back. Now if Museveni decided Ethiopian (or another airline) is more deserving and guts or reduces KQs licences and access to Uganda, KQ will lose loads of revenue, then shareholders might call for Ngunze's head. Don't they have crisis managers, PR depts over at KQ? Inept.

A small diversion by one and we experience counter delays on other routes-Costly.Why not charter a small one from his house to EBB?

The guy just made a request, which was turned down and nothing happened after that - whats so dictatorial about that. Some people just hate, because its fashionable.
