Because then I can optimize my soul and my adaptation. What do you gain from the fixation? A sensing of my soul, and an affirmation of my adaptive requirements.

How is it hindering you from achieving your goals?

How is it hindering you from achieving your goals? Fixation on the transcient and contingent also works against my soul and adaptation. Mainly because there are other forms and sensations and experiences and adaptive requirements springing up. Being fixated means death. But I want to live.

On a basic level I can say from my self, others, my surroundings, and from nature.

I'm fond of turning my mind against itself. In this instance, your definition of death is based on fixation and living is dependent on you bringing death to the part of it that works against you.Can your definition allow you to do that?

Which definition? Death through fixation. Can it be used to bring about the death of the part(s) of the fixation that you find to be counterproductive?

It is blocking your view. What is my view? Or rather, what do I wish to view? The elephant. What about the elephant do I wish to view? It's presence in the 'room'. What about its presence in the 'room'? That is what we are here to learn. You mentioned it has connections to liberation. To study God. So let's start with you, what would you like to learn about the elephant in the room? 'Let's'? You and who? And why me first? Surely my awareness of the elephant in the room indicates I have already learnt something. What about you?
