many Skerians are fascinated by new/or just any available investment/income geneartion idea that comes by. or even just to get to buy/own that and that... (Sukuma??).

Just curious. there have been in the past signs of people showing interest to gang up to bring up projects, including one mega one whereby some skerians company was being formed.

Are many of us just excited and dreamers of project this or that or are we more individualistic and tend to drive these interesting ideas to fruition alone? if the latter there are pros and cons of course.

just curious, are there people out there/ or more precisely here, who have come up together, having met here and implemented some nice succesful project- i.e income genearation (not really the mbuzi choma). or even one which failed.

It will be good just to know its been happening and to inspire or learn lessons. At the end of the day the startups, small and big successful companies have been driven bigger by having many minds and resources coming together.

Anybody?

Started one but not through SK

We started a Charity club last year and it's doing well.

It's open to all skerians on voluntary basis. We have contributed to Red cross, visited a rehabilitation centre and are planning to visit some hunger affected area in the country next month.

It remains a life long project for service to humanity and it satisfies beyond monetary terms,I tell you.

How about starting a Secret Society..?

NewAfrican
Secret societies: Africa’s way forward
Powerful secret societies in the West and elsewhere rule their countries and the world behind the scenes. They meet annually or thereabouts in secret locations. They discuss and take decisions on major policies affecting their countries and the world. Their memberships cut across politics, business, media, military, diplomacy, academia, etc. And they get things done.....

..Africa also needs its own secret societies ..... minus their sinister side... to defend its interests globally and speed up its development?

So far only the charitable one seems to have gotten off. no surprise,i want to think it is more about the requirement to commit and 'suffer' consequenses.

In a charity setup, commitment is adjustable/flexible. And since initial/already committed 'investment' was charitable, the cost/impact of withdrawing is not so obvious to onself. In a strictly income generating venture set up,there are penalties and costs for not living up to committment. Sometimes these costs can be so little monetarily but are surprisingly so emotional especially in a group setup. Any expert in group dynamics to educate us here?

To the earlier promoters of the sk investment company, what actually happened - did interest just fizzle out or was itsome practical bottleneck?

@ 254.co.ke and anyone-else willing to join us

My email for the Sk charity is mpolekabisa@gmail.com

We are thinking of making the Charity more of a welfare society including the Welfare of the Charity members.

There are among us(Skerians) who are actually in need and at the same time there are those who can satisfy their needs. The needs can be jobs, basic needs, business opportunities, sickness, weddings arrangements, funerals etc. Everyone of us has at one time been faced with these issues.

The club could act as a meeting point for these two groups of people in a more private manner.

All is voluntary
