[quote=ecstacy]China's first reaction:

"Given the lack of sincerity on the part of the US to solve issues related to cyber security through dialogue and cooperation, China has decided to suspend activities of the China-US Cyber Working Group. China will react further to the US "indictment" as the situation evolves. "

Isn't that the best place to start the dialogue? China spies on US and vice versa, the problem is US caught the Chinese, they have detailed their activities, who they reported to, what they did with the information/data they acquired. Now the Chinese can do the same, but that will be opening flood gates that they aren't adept at managing.
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

So a twitter brawl has arisen with some whistleblowers in possession of the identity of the 5th country X saying that it's risky to reveal the 5th country as it may endanger the lives of operatives and associates there.

Wikileaks has indicated there is no holding back. Identity will be unleashed all the same for consistency in fact as they've already identified the other 4 non-white countries..

The US spy agency - National Security Agency (NSA)- otherwise referred to as the Equation Group by security experts has developed break through spying software hidden deep within hard drives, inaccessible to anti-virus softwares, allowing them to monitor and eavesdrop on ANY of the world's computers - even when they are not connected to the internet - if manufactured by Toshiba, Seagate or IBM.

The Moscow-based security software maker Kaspersky Lab said it has found personal computers in 30 countries infected with one or more of the spying programs, with the most infections seen in Iran, followed by Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Mali, Syria, Yemen and Algeria.

The targets included government and military institutions, telecommunication companies, banks, energy companies, nuclear researchers, media, and Islamic activists.

No surprises here, the Snowden leaks and other independent reports showed that the Americans were actively monitoring Kenyan communications.

How “omnipotent” hackers tied to NSA hid for 14 years—and were found at last

"Equation Group" ran the most advanced hacking operation ever uncovered."

Quote:

One of the Equation Group's malware platforms, for instance, rewrote the hard-drive firmware of infected computers—a never-before-seen engineering marvel that worked on 12 drive categories from manufacturers including Western Digital, Maxtor, Samsung, IBM, Micron, Toshiba, and Seagate.

The malicious firmware created a secret storage vault that survived military-grade disk wiping and reformatting, making sensitive data stolen from victims available even after reformatting the drive and reinstalling the operating system. The firmware also provided programming interfaces that other code in Equation Group's sprawling malware library could access. Once a hard drive was compromised, the infection was impossible to detect or remove.

Our American "friends" deliberately insert weaknesses into technology and then make noise when others exploit these flaws.d'oh!
