Bought KQ @21 in 2009 and watched it rise all the way to 60. Added more @40 and then came the rights issue and had to bail out at 13.

Note to self: Government controlled stocks could be good for speculative trading but not for long term investment.

Bought Mumias at 6.00 and sold at 9.00 circa 2008. Watched it soar to 13.00 and re entered in a BIG way, following which it hit 15.00. Then Kidero and his boys struck.

Suffice it to say that I'm still wailing in the toilet.

Made my nse debut with the kengen ipo and sold out nearly 300% profit, kenya re 100%, stanbic ug 200%. Then safcom happened, my initial gut feeling was not to invest in the company on the simple premise that everyone was buying but somewhere along the line my greed took over and i liquidated all my portfolio and applied for the damn thing. Got back about 80% refund before trading had commenced add bought the share at an average price of 7.45. Was taken to the cleaners and cashed out fully at 3.5.
The main purpose of the stock market is to make fools of as many people as possible.

Took a loan of 600K and blindly pumped it into stocks after college in 2007; wanted to get rich quickly. Made crazy losses and only managed to cash back 400K. That was my biggest lesson wrt handling cash.

Selling KK at 9.35 only for it to rise to the current 10+.

Buying KP at 13 bob, selling at 15.5 only for it to rise to the current 18.

Buying ARM at 80,selling at 87 only for it to rise to the current 89 levels.

The good thing with this mistake is that one learns.Hard lessons that can only be learnt in only that way.

boarded kplc around Jan at 15. had totally forgotten that they release results this season... kengen last year pre books close. fighting the urge not to re-enter kengen

Hope I won't have to swallow the humble pie of re-entering kengen at a higher price after offloading at 12.20 today. ION thinking of loading cables and exit 20+

I am no chartist. have a fair value of 18.00 but the way things are happening in this market it should at least touch 20.00 before may

Elaborate. How do you arrive at number 18.00 and 20.00. Through fundamental analysis?
