Between eTrex & Garmin - which is a better model?
Final Question:
How do I calculate area in acreage through google maps? The shape is irregular.
Right click on the map and choose "measure distance", then click around the plot.
Download Google Earth it will serve you a lot better. Pick the ka-ruler icon and you can measure anything under the sun.
Does Google Earth measure area really? The ruler measures distance only...as far as I konw.
Pls explain how u do area
NB: "Right click around the plot". You should be able to see the area in suare metres and also in square feet in addition to distance round your plot. Q: Does it work(accuracy) for slopy terrain!?
Google Earth pro can do the areas in an option of dimensions, read polygons better plus they made it free.
For slopy distance, accuracy can be improved if you measure from known beacons or any plane representation. You could only get errors should you calculate the distanced based on the gps trackings. What im Simply trying to say is that if your calculations are based on a plane projection, you are okay. If they factor in the terrain, your tabulation will be erroneous.
