Screen off in toto. Someone suggested the grafix card could be damaged. Help guys, any gud repair shop in town?

Simonkabz i hope this is not the machine that was slow last year. Don't you think that life span has been extended too much. Buy a new machine dont repair.
Try fn and f6. That is quick scrren lock usually works for hps kama its software. If not could be something more serious kama screen light or your machine could just be on its death bed!
Dont bother repairing though it wont be cost effective.

It could be some loose connection. A friend had the same problem some few weeks ago and was just about to send his computer for repair.
As he was angry, he tossed the computer onto the sofa and .... to his amazement, when he tried a last time, the screen went on ....

Give yours an earthquake treat and see whether it works.
