There will be no elections in 2022!!!!

why?

Read your constitution!

Baba read it for me.

Ask baba what the constitution says

The constitution provides for the 2nd Tuesday Aug of the FIFTH YEAR!!!!

I think the first term (the current) was a special one as per what I heard @Nyachae say on TV...so the next general election will be held on 2nd Tue-Aug-2017 and thereafter on the 2nd Tue of the the fifth year which will be 2nd-Tue-Aug-2022.
d'oh!

The 5th year will be 2018, for the lections to be in 2017 you will have to pay the MPs for the remaining part of their terms, else pay them extra to have the elections in Aug 2018. The problem with August elections that there will be no national budget read and approved as parliament shall have been prorogued three months before elections.

I think even the court ruling that put the election on March 2013 was clear on that. It stated that it had no impact on future elections. However, the parliament has recently been having ideas about changing the voting time from Aug to Dec.

I support changing the elections date to December as this is the best time to drink the campaigns money!!

Stick to the affairs of your party members after 2022.
I see stevo defecting to jubilee in 2020 after completely giving up in life and after 2022 Singh appoints him the ambassador to Somalia. Somalia will be a heaven of peace by 2019.
Babu will retire from politics in 2021 to become an actor and replaces Mr tembo as the headmaster of Tahidi High.
Weta will also retire in politics due to loneliness after his friends leaving politics he moves to Tokyo Japan and becomes a top realestate developer.

My apologies i had left out the details in red from my previous post.
This is Kenya. Baggage or no baggage wailer is pork 2022. In 2013 we elected two murder suspects.i don't know if there is or there will be any bigger or worse baggage than this.
Laughing out loudly and for all those wazuans celebrating my new found auto correct button. Ahsanteni sana .

Mungai kihanya opined that elections held after 5years is different from elections held in the fifth year. The latter is what we have and it therefore iimplies office bearers will hold office for less than 5 yrs

Did Mungai drop his wazua account and takeup @swenani?

I don't know who will win but I don't see Uhuru abadoning Ruto. This would mean akina mathukuma could be facing recurring ghasia again in RV now that the excuse of 'different political groups' will be back

Truth be told, UMK is very protective of his people and hence he'd not likely do anything that would jeopardise GEMA diaspora

So according to Mungai, what was the 5th year referenced to? Doesn't the same constitution say that the MPs will be elected to serve a five year term?

It will not be Walker deciding who comes in but rather the nyuma la wazee which is already working on the same.......just like in 2013, it's not Kibaki who decided on Uhuru!~!!
