Key word that Wanjui said is that they will try to meet the target. That just tells it all.
In the listing which of the remaining partners would agree to reduce their stake.
One of the requirements of listing is that a quarter of the stake be put up for sale.
For the case of I&M it was the private equity partners reducing their stake.
For UAP Old Mutual nor Joe Wanjui will be keen to reduce their stake.
This year Old Mutual would be doing re-alignment so in my own view listing this year is a mirage.

Okay, i see Old Mutual is buying 37.3% of UAP’s existing share capital bringing their stake to 60.7%

How many small investors do we have in UAP?

One of the clauses of the sale agreement says that

'On completion of the purchase from the PE Investors, UAPHL will retain its diverse and loyal Kenyan shareholder base of nearly one thousand persons, and will be able to continue on its path to its intended eventual listing of its shares on the NSE. Dr Joseph Wanjui, on behalf of Bawan Limited, and Mr James Muguiyi who collectively hold 26.43% of the issued share capital of UAPHL have confirmed to OMH that they will remain as shareholders and directors of UAPHL.'

How many small investors do we have in UAP?

953

<100,000 shares: 910 shareholders (2.58%)
100,001 - 1,000,000: 29 shareholders (5.46%)
>1,000,000 : 14 shareholders (92%)

So, the 910 of us can be swallowed PAP at the correct price.

If this thing ever lists, the1000 of you (along with rest of the crew) will make extremely good money!!!

Supply will be extremely constrained! Demand definitely will be there! But where will supply come from? The 1000 of you should pray that this thing lists!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

At least one third of the shares in an insurance company must be owned by Kenyan citizens. So there is a limit as to what Old Mutual can acquire.

The company is over valued by a very big margin.CIC which is doing better than them is at a margin of 30% lower in market cap than them.
Old Mutual paid a very high price for the company but maybe it was to woo the sellers to sell to them
