When the airbag light is on because of one sensor, the others will deploy. The manuals were written by lawyers.

The yellow connectors under the front seats is a very well known culprit. Even I had it, due to car washers banging around there when cleaning the interior or constantly moving the chairs back and forth.

The safest way is to use the VAG software with the proper usb cable. That will show the exact sensor which failed.

My personal experience

YOM: Ovr 10 Yrs
Engine Size: 1490 cc
Mileage: 120,000 KMs
Transmission: Manual
Make: Nissan Blue Bird Sylphy
Gives me between 12KM/Lt to 15 KMs/Lt.

The average being 13Km/s in traffic or thrashing the vehicle on long stretches of HighWay.

This is a myth, so many reasons could be the cause of the check engine light showing up. I also think VWs are the most misunderstood cars in Kenya.

For instance, the cost of buying a Toyota Premio/Allion is the same as buying a VW Jetta at the current market rate.

From the comments on the link, it seems watu wameumia sana. Imagine being hit with 3,000 GBP (i.e. Kshs. 450k) bill replacing a cracked piston, valves,gaskets, timing chains etc. Glad i got rid of the lemon.
