The school has an allotment letter to the land it acquired in 1975. Change of ownership duly registered from 1 October 1989.

Instead of issuing warnings Weston Hotel should be busy trying to repair their reputation.

To show you what Weston Hotel thinks about children being tear gassed, they have issued a WARNING

I guess I can't say that some children were taken to hospital after allegedly being tear gassed. This was after they were led by activists to protest on the alleged usurping of their play ground. Weston Hotel borders Langata Primary school where police engaged allegedly unruly children.

RAILA ODINGA'S STATEMENT ON LANG'ATA PRIMARY SCHOOL 'LAND GRAB'

January 19, 2015.

I have learnt with extreme shock and shame that pupils of Langa’ta Road Primary School have been injured after police threw tear gas canisters at them and other well-wishers who joined them to protest the grabbing of their school’s playground.

This is brutality beyond words and greed beyond description. It is difficult to believe that police can actually deploy against primary school children and lobby tear gas at them to defend a land grabber.
This image of a nation determined to steal forcefully from its own children cannot be what we aspire to. It cannot be the legacy we want to bequeath the children.

However greedy, acquisitive and heartless we may be, we surely can stand up for the children. After all, they are the people we are guarding the nation for.

I stand with the parents, pupils and teachers of this school over this land. At the very least, I am prepared to give them the benefit of doubt that they own the land. Somebody must be held accountable for this primitive and shameful action.

I don't care who you are or who you think you are.

Hurting children for political expediency is not what Jesus would do

I don't want to see such pictures again. And someone really should be fired if this gov't is serious.

All they want is a playground. That's all. A damn playground

When all is said and done, I have a feeling Nairobi City Council, custodian of the school and land, will be the culpable party in the shenanigans.

The mistake of Airport View/Mayank Singh or even Weston, was to rely on money and official communication of a party with low morals. http://mobile.nation.co.ke/news...ml/-/cwncdc/-/index.html

I think its time we all agreed that we dont have a police service in Kenya, but a gang of thugs masquerading as our security officers. World over, any security operation is usually put on hold if there is any info that kids might be hurt. Even terrorists know that if they hold a child hostage, they may buy themselves some time. Heck, even in movies, thugs uses kids to escape arrest. Now that ours decided to go ahead and tear gas our kids, it then follows that these could only be thugs from somewhere in lawless country. Under whatever circumstance, you can't do that. That must be the lowest possible. Sad Sad Sad To think someone gave such orders!!!
