Its quite shocking for me that you paying a rent of almost 30k, yet you are still using Footsubishi or Route 11!!! Or is it me that my priorities are not upright?

As you put it priorities, for me home ownwership has always been a bigger priority rather than getting a vehicle. Also, having recently shifted to Nairobi is what has maybe created the need for me to get a vehicle. However, I still place home ownership as a priority.

Why not move to Everest Park? Its closer(a few hundred meters), its on the road so no need to worry about dust or mud and has decent finishing.

I have been staying at Sunset Boulevard for about 1 month now and it hasn't been a rosy experience. Don't get me wrong, the place is beautiful and houses have 'nearly' good finishes. They claim the taps are made out of stainless steel, mine started rusting just after about 2 weeks that I'd been there. My toilets were also leaking from the minute water was connected to the house and this still hasn't been fixed as well. The walls already have cracks and when moving in I pointed it out and was told it is not a big issue. Now to the big one, I am a commuter and the experience is just terrible. The road leading to the estate from Mombasa Road is horrible, they've tried to do a few things to make it better but for a commuter it is still horrible. When it rains the place floods up, which is simply not something I'd wish for anyone to expereince. It isn't any better at this time when its dry, the place is dusty and as vehicles zoom past they leave clouds of dust woe unto us commuters who have to walk on the same route. And the stage where matatus are taken you have to wait roughly 15 minutes to even 30 minutes to get transport. Long story short, I've decided it just makes sense to move and was looking at either SheShe Gardens or Olonyori. As someone who won't be getting a vehicle till probably end of the year, which of the two options is commuter 'friendlier' or if you do know any options around Syokimau or Mlolongo I would appreciate.

This is very sad. I look forward to the day developers actually deliver what they promise but this is Kenya, it will probably never happen. I remember that guy who was complaining about using pit latrines. A friend bought an apt. in Kikuyu town and now, all the shiny parts are breaking off, mbao are chipping etc. I think it's better to build your own home

@Orionuer, your troubles are over. Welcome to GreatWall Apartments Phase 3- 3Bedrooms, Master ensuite, spacious, free hotwater, plenty of open space (green and cabro)... All these for 30k a month. If interested post your email or send to wazua@googlegroups.com

Operation get your life back!!

I acually do have a life contrary to how it sounds. GreatWall, I had checked out Phase 1 initially and wasn't that impressed. Haven't checked out Phase 2 or 3, but I live alone so what would I be doing with 3 bedrooms?

Considered that option, problem still it is in the same area where transport in general is a problem.

What's the total sqm for houses at Sunset Boulevard? 2-bed/3-bed

I must have checked a while back, and sqm details were equal to Five Star gardens (approx 80sqm for 2-bed), which looked reasonably sized to me.

Life is joy, death is peace, but the transition is very difficult.

@Orionuer , while looking, consider Lifestyle Terraces. They just started building, and show house should be ready early this year."
Haven't gone there yet, so not sure of quality etc.. But they Did Lifestyle Gardens, which is complete and fully occupied?

The 2 bedrooms are 760sq feet and 3 bedroom 1000sq feet. I guess it is use of space that was the problem when building, because not all units are a standard size. This is particualrly the case with 3 bedrooms, and when I actually went for the viewing the guy who was taking me around kept telling me he would show me some houses with very tiny bedrooms, using it as a selling point for me to take the unit I am currently in. Which worked, but I pity the people who'll move into those units.

So, that's like 70sqm for 2-bed and 92 for 3-bed.. Slightly smaller..which would make me wonder where they used that space for..?

Unless they just simply lied..and did not honor the actual sqm/sqft promised. I was at Five Star gardens behind Naivas Mall, and they looked reasonably sized @ around the same sqm.

Good to note that actually. So - thanks.
