@jaggernaut has a point. I also thought you can only be licensed to own a pistol not assault rifles.

Can some please clarify (and put a link if possible) if one can be licensed to own a rifle in Kenya because in that case I want an AK 47. I would stand a better chance if thugs break into my house and I have an AK 47 as opposed to a Ceska.

People are licensed to carry firearms(an assault rifle is a firearm) and not pistol(Pistol is a firearm too)

Firearms Act!

Quote:
According to the Firearms Act, civilians are not allowed to own automatic and semi-automatic self-loading military assault rifles of 7.26mm or 5.56mm calibre, firearms fitted with sound suppressors, or AK-47s, G3 rifles, MP5s and other similar firearms.

During the campaign period of 2012, Raila went for Jubilee's jugular by alleging that; "Wakiamuka asubuhi ni pombe, pombe, pombe!" To which Ruto replied, in a below-the-belt fashion; "Huyo anaongea kuhusu pombe, na ndani ya nyumba yake kuna watu wanatumia madawa ya kulevya"

This was the lowest point during that period as Cord and Jubilee spilled the beans on each other in a no holds barred personal mudslinging. Who could that person in Raila's household be? Pray

Weka link!!!

World over there are specifications of the kind of firearm you can own even in the most liberalized gun loving country - USA.

I would be surprised if in Kenya the license is a blank cheque to own uzis, AK 47s, G3, Beretta ARX 160, Close Quarters Battle Receiver, CZ-805 BREN, FX-05 Xiuhcoatl, Galil ACE, Zastava M21, T86, T91, StG 44, SR-3 Vikhr, SAR-21, SIG SG 516, Rk 95 TP, QBZ-95, Multi Caliber Individual Weapon System, M16, ADS amphibious rifle, RPD, Type 67 machine gun, M240, AA-52, Zastava M72 etc. etc.

But weka link tuone.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I can see you have now found the link and edited the post!!!

This is exactly what I was saying!!! There is no way you give a blanket license to own any kind of fire arm. There must be restrictions otherwise you turn the country into a war zone.

Even in the gun loving capital of the world, they have restrictions on caliber, type, number of bullets the magazine can hold etc. etc.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Dont worry you will not be given the results. It will be like this.... kesho >>>> Harambee, Thursday >>>> Funeral service, Friday >>>> travel to Ocha with so much politicking, Sato >>>> Burial with more politics.

It ends there, after that ukiuliza it becomes a private/family affair!

We are closely monitoring you!!!
The penalties are stiff under section 4 subsection 2 and 3

Quote:
(2) If any person—
(a) purchases, acquires or has in his possession any firearm or
ammunition without holding a firearm certificate in force at the time,
or otherwise than as authorized by a certificate, or, in the case of
ammunition, in quantities in excess of those so authorized; or
(b) fails to comply with any condition subject to which a firearm certificate
is held by him,
he shall, subject to this Act, be guilty of an offence.
(3) Any person who is convicted of an offence under subsection (2) shall—
(a) if the firearm concerned is a prohibited weapon of a type specified in
paragraph (b) of the definition of that term contained in section 2 or
the ammunition is ammunition for use in any such firearm be liable to
imprisonment for a term of not less than seven years and not more
than fifteen years; or
(b) if the firearm is any other type or the ammunition for any weapon not
being a prohibited weapon be liable to imprisonment for a term of not
less than five, but not exceeding ten years:

Section 4 of the firearms Act was amende through the security amendment Act 2014 and thus further punishes those with armored vehicles

Quote:
The Firearms Act is amended in section 4 —
(a) by inserting the following new subsection
immediately after subsection (1) —
(1A) No person shall manufacture,
assemble, purchase, acquire or have in his
possession an armoured vehicle unless he
holds a certificate of approval issued
under this Act.

(b) by inserting the following new paragraph in
subsection (2) immediately after paragraph
(b) —
(c) manufactures, assembles, purchases,
acquires or has in his possession an
armoured vehicle without approval
under subsection
(1A).

Yesturday they wanted the postmortem done under natural light.Am sure they have finished as todays light was extra bright.

What am almost certain about is that the results show something the family could be ashamed of and so it shall remain a family matter.

If at all there was an ioata of foul play..Nairobi haingekalika.

But my wish would be they say to truth to clear doubts and enable us take some lessons for our children.

From what I could gather from the firearms on Kenya bunduki, you can own either a shotgun rifle, pistol or revolver. Nothing like AKs
