Odinga yesterday stumbled on a cache of firearms and
ammunition in his Karen residence.
The cops retrieved three rifles, a pistol, and about 2,000
bullets at the Bel Air Country Homes residence in the upmarket
Karen suburb.
The firearms and ammo were found in a safe alongside a
bulletproof jacket.

He was licensed. Non?

from the same article he conveniently left out:

The firearms and ammo were found in a safe alongside a bulletproof jacket and were legally owned by Fidel, a licensed firearms certificates holder. - See more at: http://www.the-star.co.k...om#sthash.P2TRGj3o.dpuf

I thought the license is normally for a pistol and 20 bullets for personal security. Not for 3 AK 47 assault rifles and 2000 bullets plus bullet proof jackets.

Why would the govt license you to hold all those guns? Sounds more like an armoury...

Not necessarily. You can buy as many bullets as you need to. and you can buy other guns/rifles etc. How would you practice shooting with only 20 bullets when a simple one time drill will easily take 16? In any case, a pack comes with a lot more than that.

So this means once you get the certificate you can go on a shopping spree of rifles, maybe order them by the truckload?

You are not on trade. it has to be reasonable... just the same way you do not go on a car-buying-spree just because you have a driving license... In any case, they do not come cheap.

Oh i get the logic. Once you have a DL you can own and drive as many cars as you wish. And once you get a FL you can buy as many guns and rifles as you wish.

Not really. But @Wendz is right. Once you have a license, tiz always easier to buy additional firearms. It's allowed.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..

@jaggernaut has a point. I also thought you can only be licensed to own a pistol not assault rifles.

Can some please clarify (and put a link if possible) if one can be licensed to own a rifle in Kenya because in that case I want an AK 47. I would stand a better chance if thugs break into my house and I have an AK 47 as opposed to a Ceska.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
