Quick one here. What are the procedures to import vehicles from Japan,singapore etc into Kenya for road transit to EAC countries that dont have the 8 year rule.

Which countries dont have that rule between Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda?

Anyone in that biz to advice us on the intricacies in the spirit of Wazua?

Not sure this helps...

We sent a '99 Land Cruiser from UK to Mombasa late last year. The Consignee/final destination address (on the bill of Lading) was in Ug.

That puts the age of the car at 10yrs. As far as I know the container landed in Mombasa and was expected to go to UG probably by road.

The documentation was sent to the clearing agent in Mombasa.

@JkMwatha, thanks for info. It helps.. Though I hear they are to implement the rule soon. Not sure if they are just rumors..
