the guards are hapo to make sure there is order and to keep out the street kids.

for terrorists, the idea is to prevent them from getting to such establishments, lakini when the suicidal folks get to the gate - there is nothing much one can do.

I agree...serious gate-keeping does not rest with the guards at the mall

On a different note, some people might land in problems here if the police are serious.

1) A licensed gun holder should not 'lend' their gun to anyone for WHATEVER REASON.

2) An unlicensed person should not be in possession of a gun.

Tic toc. Tic toc...

Of course the police are not serious. There are more serious matters that call for the IG to take action e.g. Linda Okello wearing a tight skirt to work

Or police commandant kibue speaking in an accent that may think he is communicating with niggas in Harlem!

I have had a case sucha as the ones mentioned here. At a church here in Nbi. Had gone for Saturday evening bible study. I had a bag full of green peas in the front seat.

They didn't bother to check anything, not even the boot

There is some sense in that. During the Westgate Sieke, the terrorists didnt even give the guards an option to search them, they just shot them down.

The security standards demanded here can only be met by robots that can see through walls.

Even the guards don't know what to do.

Are you serious? This is 2014. While you were away... we came up with something called technology. We also taught dogs to more than bark and bite!!!

If you can build a mall, you can afford to install a scanner. It can even be fixed and you reduce the number of people doing physical searches. You can probably increase the number of armed personnel that can respond when a security breach is detected.

And if your mall is known to have state of the art security - you can shout about it without giving very specific details - you get more customers, higher sales, higher rents etc.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Having guards at a mall cannot help.If he were to frisk you & found a grenade or gun, what is he supposed to do?
I think we just need more armed policemen around. But as we know, we dont have enough policemen around.
