Are you serious? This is 2014. While you were away... we came up with something called technology. We also taught dogs to more than bark and bite!!!
If you can build a mall, you can afford to install a scanner. It can even be fixed and you reduce the number of people doing physical searches. You can probably increase the number of armed personnel that can respond when a security breach is detected.
And if your mall is known to have state of the art security - you can shout about it without giving very specific details - you get more customers, higher sales, higher rents etc.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
