I heard on Radio Trottoir that the 2014 CECAFA senior challenge cup may not take place. Ethiopia withdrew as hosts at the last minute leaving Musonye in a bind as he cannot find a replacement host. Also CECAFA is unable to find a sponsor.

I get the impression that Musonye has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way because of his brash attitude. Tanzanians especially Yanga fans hate his guts.

The problem with the challenge cup is that the host must foot all expenses including hotel rooms. That my friends is a tall order.

CECAFA canceled. What Shame. CECAFA senior challenge cup, the oldest tourney in Africa, is on its last legs. Apparently it costs KES 52 million to host. No wonder players were being locked in hotels for non-payment.

I agree that Musonye has outlived his usefulness. But who will take over? East African sports officials are useless.
