Let me say in short, for the sake of those who accuse me of writing long posts:

There are provisions in the bill that make it impossible to challenge. You can challenge the evidence. Even when it's revoked later, you cannot take away the damage that occurred Shame on you

And now this one is for those who can read long posts. Let me rant smile

First, I agree that we have to fight insecurity in all possible ways, but not through:
- Bypassing the normal rules of evidence
- Officially making secret about detentions
- Presumption of guilt
- Abuse of Human rights of the detainees

You see, if one of us has been put in prison and there is no evidence that we have seen, we have to support him or her. We cannot say he must have done something wrong, because then we can go to sleep, eat our own food, and enjoy ourselves and forget that one of us. No we have to say they must be innocent, because the rule even in the Western world, is that a person is innocent until proven guilty. So if our own is taken from home or even from street, and they are held for suspicion of anything, we must feel like our finger has been cut off. Like someone has stepped on our chest, like someone snatched our son or our daughter. And we will be at police station, we will be calling, we will be asking, we will be crying and begging. The least we can do is get a lawyer.

But, as usual, especially here in Wazua, because it is not our son. Because it is not our daughter. And we do not have to see them physically, we say nothing. In fact, we cheer d'oh! Liar

Kenyans, are people guilty just because we are certain tribe, or political, or religious affiliate? And what we you wait? Will you wait until you wake up one morning a knock comes through your door. And you are pulled out of your house and separately from your wife and children. And you are put inside a prison.

And will you wait until thousands of you. And it can happen anytime. And you say, not to me! It is happening right in front of you. But because it is only happening one by one by one and you go to work in the morning and you have to take care of your own business, mind your business. That Kenyan, may God help him.

It will be your son, it will be your daughter, grand son, it will be you.

I say we have to defend our constitution. We cannot leave it to be adulterated by greedy leaders.

But, for it to work in Kenya, only a miracle from GOD.
The culture of hatred and in-tolerance would not let the (Nyumba Kumi work)

Ali Roba rolling out enviable baby steps that Govt can adopt in a big way. He's trying to reach out to the elders so as to isolate the radicals and expose them while guarding recriminations.

I say bring that bill. Enact it..

It is being supported here because people feel one of us is in government and we are good with it. but we have been here before. Somebody else will take over from 'our own' and it shall be back to Moi era.

We have such warthog brains...

@poundfoolish you're right. We're one bunch of sorry state citizens. The 2002 euphoria was not about M01 after all. It was about taking power back to the Mt.
It was not really about a good constitution.
OK, wait until the crying man takes power. Then we will hear about constitution review again!!

Power Corrupts Absolutely.

So how are you different from those purportedly "supporting" them? Why must everything always be "them" against "us"? When will we ever be on the side of Kenya?
