Should have cost not more than 2500! So you always buy 3K units for a whole month? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

I once asked a KP guy that query. He said the solution is to ensure you always buy your tokens at the beginning of the month, and buy just enough to last that month. Which means one must really keep an eye on their consumption. Like tomorrow is 1st dec can I buy my monthly token then? This is terrible, where in @mukiha? Let me throw in some more confusion! A friend who works for Kenya Power tells me they effect new rates 'around 4th of the month'. Like if you buy today and someone else buys on 4th some charges - like fuel charge - are different!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

If you buy 150, 100 + 50 or 50 + 50 + 50 in the same month you pay exactly the same amount (unless you are using MPesa in which case buying in bits costs you more in transaction fees!!!) As I said in post #39 I'm not able to test this theory of buying in bits since I'm in post-pay. I only got the info from a KP officer but I'm not sure if fit works or not. If it doesn't work(split buying) then we have to avoid energy savers and use "more of LED bulbs" for lighting! The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it's conformity.

Last month I paid 6k, this month 1.2k no change in appliances. In a place where thought is abandoned, freedom can become a curse.

That's true and especially so for a declining unit cost. Otherwise if you apply the link I gave above, the guy who bought 2,000/= worth of power cannot regret for buying "in bulk" if ALL the units are consumed within the month. This is my two engineering cents! Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Go to pre-paid and put the KShs in the steps as you have explained above. I used to be in your boat but realized it doesn't work that way. See also my comment in post #49. The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it's conformity.

Electricity Saving Box. I'm using one.It saves up to 30% of your power use by stabilizing and eliminating power loss[wastage] hence lowering your bill by similar margin.

When you state such a thing, you give more details!!! What is this electricity saving box? Where are they sold? How.much do they cost? How do they work? Where and how are they installed? Are they legal? Are there additional benefits of risk? etc. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

There are not many ways to do this...but..
1. You can conserve by using less electricity resulting in a lower demand for more water from the dam.
2. You can conserve by use of energy saving bulbs and similar green energy gargets e.g. the modern fridges and other low consuming devices
3. You can even go solar thas demanding little from KPLC. I suggest you tabulate the ROI and check if it makes sense.
4. You can for example shower with cold water, creating no additional demand on KPLC etc.
Think of more ideas

It's a small plug-like thing with two led indicators, you simply plug it in any live socket in the house or office [not for industrial use]. No idea about the cost as yet, it was a gift. I understand its completely legal, that's after he talked to KP. Apparently any device connected to power after the meter [in your house] is not Kenya power's business. I'm testing it for one month to see if the billing will be lower.
