We have given some...many...

By the way, this is what happens in other countries. Do you remember the other lady who resigned coz a mkora was found in White house?

Rapid advances by Islamic State jihadists in Syria and Iraq forced the Pentagon chief into managing a complex campaign, and Obama concluded Hagel was not the man for the task.

Am reading only one from you.....1. The government should fire incompetent officials. 2....... 3......4....

At least I have given one which you can see. I wish it was implemented today, Alshabaab would stop laughing at us.

But man, I gave more. I am the one waiting for yours. Not a vague statement like "Security is about all of us" but specifics. I point form. I attempted mine(see below). Try and attempt yours, please please I beg you. Be a bit specific.

Ok then Washiku, it seems my earlier points have been drowned by all the condemnation i have received by asking what we as citizens are doing.
I suggested that the government carry out similar tactics as used on mungiki and sdlf to fight the collaborators who are among us and hiding under the guise of religion.
I suggested that the citizenry be more proactive in giving information to the police (which here is a bone of contention since according to you, you can only do so much whereas i think we can do more)
The religious leaders, politicians and NGO's to allow the government to weed out the militant among us without crying about human rights and we if we are to win this war we all have to be on the same side.

My point here is we are focusing on pointing fingers than coming up with tangible and feasible solutions. They may not all be right but at least its the correct discussion.

Sometimes you read stuff then you remember the story of the Ostrich with its huge neck in the sand.

These are buzzwords taken off Ole Lenkus black book of funny statements

collaborators - who Kratos are these collaborators?
proactive citezens - you have just proven that the police phone line doesn't work. But pls give us another number that works. There are some video producers right now showing women being raped in matatus
people allow the gov't the weed out the militants amongst us

First, who are these militants you keep on talking about? Second, don't the police know them? Third, if they know them why not arrest them? Forth, or do you expect Washiku to do more sleuthing for you?

The Gov't has failed to provide security to its people. I don't know of anyone who's not saying Ole Lenku and Kimaiyo should go home. I didn't until I saw your posts.

You just have to stop blaming victims. That you just have to stop. Either the police heads know what they are doing or they don't.

Those buzzwords you have used are the same ones that were used during Moi's time to silence critics. This gov't must act within the law. There is no negotiating on that. This gov't must SHOW that they are doing something.

Honestly another selfie and another fake 100 killed statement will not go a long way towards solving the crisis we are in.

Kratos, you do know women are being raped in matatus. Exactly who are the collaborators in such actions?

NAIROBI, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Kenya's largest mobile phone firm Safaricom said on Tuesday it had signed a deal with the government
to construct a security system worth 14.9 billion shillings ($165.2 million).
The project was given the go-ahead by a parliamentary committee on administration and national security in July, which cited last
September's attack on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi and attacks on the coast in recent months as reasons to improve
surveillance and security nationally.
The awarding of the contract to Safaricom, which is 40 percent owned by Britain's Vodafone, had sparked a row when critics
complained that it had been awarded without an open bidding process.
Under the terms of the contract, Safaricom will install and run a communication and surveillance system that is linked to police
stations to help combat crime, initially operating in Nairobi and Kenya's second-largest city, Mombasa.
The two cities have borne the brunt of a spate of gun and grenade attacks in the past year, blamed by the government on Somalia's
Islamist al Shabaab militants. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the most recent attack on Saturday, when 28 people were shot
dead near the Somali border.
Interior minister Joseph ole Lenku said the surveillance project would provide security agents with the capability to monitor and deter
crime.
Bob Collymore, Safaricom's chief executive officer, said the project would take 18 months to construct.

Hope on the way!

@ngalaka, I also gave this as my suspicion a while back too. I heard that some of the drug barons in coast were not happy about any initiative to try and sensitive youths about the dangers of drug abuse. They eliminate the sheikhs who try to do this!

@ Alma what are YOUR solutions? Those are mine where are yours? Mine might not be correct according to you but am ok with it.

If i remember correctly here on wazua you're always going on about Gor hooligans and how fellow supporters should out them since they know them and that they don't have to wait for the police. How is it any different from what am saying about the terrorists?

Some things are very simple. They are Gor people. Wear Gor t-shirts. Sing Gor songs with you. You know them. Please help our police get them. As you know our police can't even afford car fuel let alone CCTV cameras.

But you guys know your fellow hooligans very well.

Again i have to send you back to my earlier posts where i pointed out that terrorists must have local connections and those are the ones am calling collaborators.

Instead of attacking my contributions, give yours and lets also discuss. I still maintain if asking citizens to contribute more is the same as "blaming victims" in your vocabulary i have no apologies.

Kratos, if you ever take what I say about Gor Hooligans on wazua seriously, then we are a bit lost. Pls remember the person I'm attacking happens to be someone who's bought me Jameson and if he calls me for another, niko hapo. And he's still a hooligan.

We are talking matters security here.

I will not go down your path. All I am is a simple citizen who wants a solution to this mess.

You want me to sign Kumbaya with Ole Lenku, I tell you, the first step for me to feel comfortable is if he goes home.

Then you can start telling me stories. What I have seen in 2yrs from red lines to burning blankets is more than enough torture for me.

Excellent. Now let's assume all your solutions up there are fine and they would work. We are 40million plus people. Definitely such a crowd can't do those things without some guidance, some leadership of sorts. Who do you think will facilitate that? Who will ensure that lines are going through for me to anonymously report crime to the right people? Who will ensure that if the phone goes through the info will be acted upon at the right time? Who will order the army to do a Mungiki or ADDS kind of operation? Who would bring the religious, NGOs or such others on the table and buy their buy in in collectively tackling the menace? Who will offer LEADERSHIP? Is that person Washiku? Nope. Why? Because, however willing I am, the constitution that me and you voted in found it wise to place the powers to order the army on the CiC. If Uhuru was able to broker peace in South Sudan, he is warm and wise enough to call a meeting of leaders and sell his vision. All of them may not support him, but majority will. If he could convince the Heads of State of the whole of Africa, he can surely convince a few guys from the Coast. Unless you are telling me he is incompetent, is he?

@Wazuans, the problem can never be al Shabaab, or the incompetence of our government officials. These can never be the problems that are causing so many citizens and humans discomfort.

The problem is that we all have a dark compulsion that makes us create the al Shabaab and the incompetent or even helpless government officials. It is this very force that begins wars, and sets brother against brother. Right now, think about this thread; when we give our recommendations can you see their darkness. The individuals under criticism are stirred to darkness, the al Shabaab have succeeded in stirring many of us to fear and anger, we now want extrajudicial killings, and curtailing of freedoms. Darkness.

This darkness is our problem and threat, and the solution is to illuminate on it and harness it for the good of humanity.

Myself I have managed to initiate a conscious link between these dark forces within me and has started a most pleasurable and secure life. And I can see how these harnessed forces can create a new world that's peaceful and prosperous. Heaven isn't a place out there. Heaven is an attitude and a way of relating.

Let's stop running and calm down and fully reflect on these words, and you will see that they're true.

Hundreds of people have fled to a military airstrip in Kenya's Mandera region amid fears that militants could launch a new assault.

Many of them are non-Muslim civil servants who are demanding that the government evacuate them from the region, a BBC reporter says.

It can't be drugs, and I agree it wasn't somali alshabab. I read the account of one of the mandera survivors in today's standard newspaper and he said that after the thugs were through with the killings, they clapped and shouted saying that "Muslims in mombasa should be allowed to pray freely". Why should somali alshabab be concerned about the goings on in mbs mosques? In mpeketoni the killers hired 2 vans in mombasa pretending to be going to bury someone in mpeketoni. And all witnesses said the killers were led by someone with white skin and speaking swahili and English (i believe hao waswahili wa mbs) who was personally carrying out the beheadings. Note also that mpeketoni happened after the killing of clerics in mbs and mandera has happened after storming of mosques. All this violence is being planned hapo mombasa, not somaliya. Omar hassan, watu wa masjid etc should tell us more.

2 years who cares who's doing it? If we are still guessing who's doing it, tuna shida kubwa sana.

What should matter to this government is that it has to stop.

I can see wazua evolve on this…since we can see the connection between, Mombasa, Mpeketoni & Mandera, does this means in every county in coast and North Eastern, we have mrc foot soldiers who have already profiled the local populations, patterns, etc and ready to strike at short notice as soon as there is a signal….and these signals seem to emanate from some sheks / political leaders purporting to speak for religion.
The other issue is that shabab do not have capacity to plan these atrocities from across the border. If they had, we should have been able to intercept communications. Also recognize that due to instability in Somalia, many Somalis have fled to Kenya and this sizable population is now fighting for equilibrium, whether by design or default, and they have found willing partners in the struggle, again by design or default in the name of local politicians and sheks. And does jubilee understand what the term espionage means and what needs to be done in context? can smone pliz do a power point if they still don’t get it.
