The best response would be to shower the sector next to Mandera with serious sulphur bombs

Sense of being unsafe nothing as uncomfortable, what will lenku and kimaiyo say ? will they go there to show solidarity as usual then go back to their usual self, anyway they are just employees this blame if any lies squarely on Uhuru kenyattas shoulders, why are these 2 baggas still in office?

Security issues are veeeeery complex and UK, Lenku,IG or whomsoever can't achieve if the Kenyan CITIZENS don't assist. one thing those border somalis know all happenings and are veeeeery un co-operative; during sharing national cake they're kenyans & on attacks they're somalis. The blame lies squarely on the LOCALS. sometimes it's business rivalry.

NO I DISAGREE, all what is required is for @alpha to teach us the koran verse they keep asking, mambo kwisha!

The locals had informed the authorities of an impending attack on buses, the security organs disregarded the info.
Its all good.

IOUN,death tollfrom Marsabit clashes risesto 10

In other countries, the people who are responsible and accountable for security resign due to security breach but in our beloved country,no one can resign or be fired for the loss of life due to insecurity

Security is an attitude. To be secure we need to change our collective attitude. An appropriate and adaptive attitude would entail not blaming, learning quickly, mobilizing resources, and acting effeciently and effectively. Like in an ant colony.

But it's like the colony is disorganized. Confusion and conjecture seem to be the rule. Why? Because the responsibility of security lies in social institutions which derive their legitimacy on the pledge of securing all the citizens.

But now this claim is questionable. Governments no longer have a monopoly of arms, and even soldiers. Private military contractors are on the rise, terrorist organizations following are increasing in spread and at the same time consolidating. Technology is advancing and spreading at a very fast rate. Government needs to concede that the conditions for legitimacy have changed and shape up accordingly. This of course goes down to the private citizen having a new kind of political awareness and relationship set.

Kenyan political leaders, and all citizens need to embrace an adaptive attitude that sees deep into the new world order and fashion political life accordingly.

This is a sad case.

1. I condemn the police for raiding places of worship blindly, killing one youth
2. I condemn the retaliation attack the next night by youth killing innocent people
3. I condemn this morning's attack of travelers in Mandera.

We should all change our attitude towards, terrorism and crime. We need to make each one of us a partner in this. The moment we treat a criminal as a criminal and not a religious criminal, then we can be able to move forward. The moment we stop profiling people based on their religion, is when we will buy in real security improvements.
