section of this constitution [courtesy of NGOs and other such assorted groups] will totally mess the country.
Quote:The suspect is alleged to have been involved in the 2013 killings at the Mombasa fire station and has a murder case pending in court over the hacking of some people.
You don't release all kinds of suspects [including capital offences] on bond and expect justice to be served. These criminals go back to the society and intimidate (or even kill) everyone and their cases never go anywhere! Of late I have been reading about witnesses murdered by [apparently] the same suspects they are supposed to be giving evidence against - probably in yet another murder case!!!
Note: I'm not specifically commenting on this case or clerics etc. My issue is on releasing murder suspects and other serious offenders back to the society on bond. We cannot put suspects' rights [even though they are important] above the rights of victims, witnesses and the general population. Imagine a murderer with all the evidence stacked against him back in society! What does he have to lose? What will stop him from killing again, and again, and again... as the case goes on? After all, they can only hang you once! For one murder or ten. And that is why murder suspect - even in the west - are kept behind bars till the case is over. And in cases where a suspect is released, there must be justifiable reason to prove that he is unlikely to pose a danger to society or be a flight risk. And even then, there must be proper mechanisms to monitor the suspect and protect the witnesses!
Show me a country where an individual suspected of "hacking some people" is released on bail and I will show you a country in need of prayers!!!
