Very normal... In my novice opinion, both upward/decline movements proceed in a see-saw format; but the trend is generally up or down over time.
Problem with us as investors is emotion overcomes rationality. Question is:
--are you buying to make short-term gains; if so always sell when share is going up e.g. MSC at 9.00
not when it starts coming down--are you buying for long-term gains; if so your mistake was to follow the market keenly. You'd make more money if you were asleep and woke up at the end of the year.
