@hisah..are u still holding this ? 1.5 is surely coming

15% only! if I were you I would cut down my losses and check for better discounts coming this Nov/Dec and by Mar 2015 you'll have recovered plus made more gains. MSC is one company that has a very loooooooooong way to recovery. If operations resume the very cost of production and debts will leave them with nothing. Even if a buy out is proposed the amount of debt is so huge plus other 'chaps' will come in with fake debts.

All these prophesies of doom for the sugar sector in general are proving a bit boring now (daily nation business 29th October 2014), either they do something about the issues they have been talking about or close down the mills, we can then move to something new.

The suprising bit is that when the factories close for maintainance, the price of sugar goes up yet we are told of cheap imported sugar.. what is the story here

@Hamaina ulcers itakumaluza I remember I highlighted challenges in this sugar sector a while ago and gave you examples of the fallen sugar factories ukapinga. The sector Iko chida & it'll have "doomed" news until the costs of production tremendously reduce by 70%. Poleee though ukichomeka.....Congrats if you'll harvest well.

I've dedicated a small part in mopping up at these low prices.. I'm putting money that I would use in small unnecessary luxuries (like buying ice cream) into it. I feel the price is tanking unreasonably beyond where it should be and has a fair chance of some recovery but not in the near future. But of course, I'm not a pro and I'm not advising anyone to buy (or sell). It's just part of my small personal weight loss project. And also (I know this is silly) I'm hoping for an eventual buyout if it doesn't workout.

I didn't know sugar can be bitter. However, it turns out to be exactly that.

West Kenya closed too,Sony is about to in a few days! colluding. already news of shortages are on media. A while ago our factories complained of warehouses filled to brim &lack of market due to cheap imports. Before a factory closes for maintenance it ensures warehouses are filled to carter for consumers during that period and a little longer. Hii sugar sector ndio MEGA SCANDALS. everybody takes a sugar beverage/product several times a day from UK to mtoto wa wanjiku. MEGA Business.

the high volumes seem to suggest a favorable future price. Then again it could be wishful thinking from one already in the frying pan.

When the 2.00 support was penetrated, I knew guys holding are in for a rough ride. I will be tempted to jump in when it gets to the 1.30-1.50 region maybe mid December

When construction of busia sugar started I knew things are bad for mumias, the western sugar belt needs only one sugar mill like mumias operating at full capacity without shortages year round, mumias is a stock which can easily double your fortune at this price or make you cry forever...God denied us the power to know tomorrow.

Mumias stock shrinks to 91pc of State offer price
The best thing the govt still hold a chunk of shares and won't let go. fter next season opening business will not be as usaul, it will come back with a bang and as new with new faces.
It will quickly retrace its steps up to 6kes very quickly before settling at 9 by june 2015

I am also not seeing this MSC going down going by the volumes being traded daily.
