If the cycle plays out as expected, buying gold before the Fed funds rate hike will be beneficial.

Interesting. Will the SME bourse be open to foreigners and what is the base currency?

@cde - Oil price slump has done many oil consumer nations a favour by shrinking their import bills with an expensive USD on the rampage. But for the alternative energy play like Kandi and Tesla this may be a curve ball in the making. If oil price drastically drops towards $50-60/BBL elec cars will start to lose their appeal since expensive gas/oil is what led to the alternate energy game. d'oh!

Laughing out loudly Sure. From this end we're really betting it at that. Major relief. For how long? That's another story.

I don't know but there shouldn't be a cause to worry much about the future of your ventures. With population tastes will still vary. There will still be the adoptive types, the conservative types and so on.

That Meikles looks like a nice play for the long term.

Btw since Putin and Xi signed that russia gas deal worth $400B back at end of May 2014 the prices of hydrocarbons started tanking in June. Coincidence Think

That deal meant all of asia is now open for business with russia for its oil/gas. And the sucker punch is, it will not be USD based rather ruble/yuan swaps! Suddenly their was Ukraine tensions and the russian sanctions by the west. A few days ago the Total Plc CEO died in a plane crash on take off from a russian airport. An outspoken CEO who had also had it with the petrodollar hegemony and called for euros to be used. Are you seeing all these coincidence...? Gaddafi tried gold, Saddam tried euros. Iran is running a euro based oil bourse (Kish) and we know the drama it has been facing go live in 2008 with sanctions after sanctions.

So suddenly we have the petrodollar system starved liquidity from the east with minimal USD trading in that system.

In short putin, xi and asia have pulled a sizable trump card and its effects are just beginning to show...
