Suppose I want to put up a cosy little home with elegant finishing....something like this:

How much would it cost me?

Construction cost alone - I have the land already.

For elegant finishes, 33K to 35K per square metre will do the trick.

The above estimate excludes external civil works such as drive way paving, sewer/septic, stone/concrete security wall etc, not to mention landscaping.

@Reithi: Is that so? Interesting. The one shown in the link is 1200sq.ft = 110sq.m; meaning I can build it with just under sh4m.

@ Reithi-u are right on spot-the range of 35k per square meter for high class finishes is very correct.
@Mukiha, the least you can construct your house with is KES 17K per square meter-low cost finishes, low-cost labour and whack workmanship. This increases as you increase quality of labour, workmanship and materials to a high of 35k.

Doing a 85 SQM bungalow including septic and chainlink fence and Estimated cost by the QS is 36.5 K per SQ M.Extremely high quality finishes. Contact Professionals(Archtect,Quantity Survey,ELectrical Eng,Structrual Eng...e.tc.) they may be expensive but can reduce on making extreme blunders which may lead to a house stalling or get poor quality house which can have very dear consequences.
