Kenyans forgot about this dream. Its no longer getting the attention it was attracting.

I think a 1/4acre residential plot at Tatu city at 7.5m is a very good deal.

Centum taking over Tatu City is a dream;they don't have the money and they are so much stretched in terms of the debt they have taken.
Two Rivers project they ceded 42% to the investor who pumped in $70mn and are now left with 58%.

I think once Centum complete Two Rivers, they will have shown that they have the capacity to undertake a world class mega project. The core competencies required to do a Tatu City would be in place. Financing should not be such a big problem for them; they don't have to fully own the project and they could do a REIT or raise money for that purpose.
There are very few Kenyan companies that have the capability to undertake such a project.
I hope the Tatu City land will not end up being subdivided into little plots to create another slum-like unplanned eyesore.

I heard they ceded 62% to the Chinese contractor AVIC. Correct me if I am wrong

They ceded 38% stake to AVIC and 4% stake to ICDC

7.5M for a quarter is not bad.

however, there is fine print.
--You must build within 5 years, and you must choose one of their approved plans
--You'll be paying a service charge of 20k per month , after buying the plot, (someone is paying that same 20k for rent). However, 5year service charges have been included in the cost.

anyway, just wondering how successful they have been in selling the plots so far,
surprised they decided to employ an army of tweeps to promote tatucity on social media

In the world of securities, courage and patience become the supreme virtues after adequate knowledge and a tested judgment are at hand.
