Ok.....so the GDP adjusted for PPP to make China beat USA, only one measure! The the GDP output itself, unadjusted, China does not come anywhere close to the USA. Same to GDP per capital ($55,000 for USA and $8,000 for China). Why is the GDP adjusted for PPP greater in China than in USA?.......Economists claim that China has been manipulating its currency to make it much cheaper than the dollar. With these facts in place can we still claim that China's economy is bigger than that of USA?

this has cometoo soon.... the Yankee econimists had two sets of dates when they would be overtaken by chingchong.... the pessimist have been saying by 2050, while the optimists have been citing 2025 as that date.... lakini sasa hii imekuja mapeeema .... even though the parameter used is being rubbished by some of us.... the FACT is that the yankees were ahead of everyone else as per this measure before the current report, which indicates they have been overtaken now

@jahman.... its a matter of time before those other parameter you are citing are overhauled by chingchong

With their population, it will almost be impossible for them to match the per capita income of the USA, as the Chinese become as rich as their customers, nobody will be able to buy their stuff, they will no longer have the advantage of cheap labour and their rise will stall!!!

Dude, you are barking up the wrong tree. This statistic has nothing to do with GDP per capita (which FYI the US is not the leader anyway). Its about GDP PPP which economists have found to be a better measure of the size of an economy as opposed to simply GDP.
