My larger point is that GDP is becoming irrelevant. As Ms Waiguru said "It does not mean Kenya is now richer". Its better to look at other measures to see where Kenya really is. GDP all depends on base year and how creative a country's technocrats are. But Unfortunately now they are even forging unemployment rates.

Not sure they are aware they used 68 billion instead of ~161 billion for the ICT sector when computing the totals. Could mean $1B is missing from 2013 GDP total. What other errors are there? All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

Rebasing of the GDP (recalculation) can be compared to the Population census (recount). Now, can any of the naysayers tell us what is wrong with a population census??? What does Kenya lose by rebasing(supervised by Bretton Woods institutions)??? At least we know our strength, and where we should be-I bet the we are lagging behind infrastructure-wise and we need to wake up. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!
