Its a pity kenya power a govt owned entity which is suppose to be generating and distributing power to citizens has not improved it's services with the growth of the population and now its buying power off other firms. In otherwords its now reduced to a distribution kind of company. Its funny how people do sleep on their jobs and get away with it. I mean some of these things ought to have been addressed in the boardrooms in a ministerial level and also the company itself. But here we are now,kenya struggling with power rationing,water rationing,i dont know what else is next

What i'm implying is kenya power has really failed to serve wananchi,its completely lots its plot on why it was formed in the first place i,e generation and distribution of power. Now its more doing the distribution bit which is also a problem. Kengen came afterwards when kplc started struggling and now we hear of this mumias thingy on sugarcane left overs,we maybe going green maybe kenya is really participating in cutting down global warming this way and maybe usa and brito should give us a medal of honour!

@jaheim,get your facts right. KPLC is a DISTRIBUTION company. Kengen is a GENERATING company,so is the newly established Geothermal company. KPLC used to be a generating and distributing company until the generating bit was hived off and Kengen created to take that business.

@gordon gekko,
Well either way,so the problem kenyans are having year in year out is it generation or distribution????? Definately both cause KPLC failed in the first place and when Kengen came to existence it inherited some of these problems
