To be fair to him, both of you cannot be both right in that case. One of you is an 'apostate'.

Alphdoti, will you take your daughters to perform 'jihad'? Just a question. @muriel, first do you know the meaning of "jihad"? Or you want us to go into another endless-loop... what is 'a'? It is 'b', what is 'b'? It is 'c' as a result of 'a'... and what is 'a'? Just understand that there is a great misconception about this term "jihad". This misconception is not only among the non-Muslims, even among the Muslims. Jihad does not mean any war fought.

To be fair to him, both of you cannot be both right in that case. One of you is an 'apostate'. @ecstacy jihad comes from the Arabic word Jahada, which means to strive, to struggle. In Islamic context it means: 1. ' jihad ni ya roho' - to strive against ones own evil inclinations. 2. ' jihad ni ya roho na mwili' - It also means to strive to make the society better. 3. ' jihad ni ya mwili' - It also means to strive in the battle field for self defense. 4. ' jihad ni ya mwili' - It also means to fight against tyrant oppression. So jihad basically means to strive, it means to struggle. This can be psychologically, or emotionally, spiritually, mentally, or physically. Many people think that jihad is any war fought by any Muslim, for any reason, whether for person gain, whether be fame, whether be for money. Jihad does not mean any war fought by Muslim. So I hope you understand.

IS linked Algerian group Jund al-Khilafah has released a video of the beheading of French hostage Herve Gourdel in support of Islamic State.
The group had threatened to kill the man if France did not halt its participation in the campaign against the Islamic State group in Iraq.

There are 1.6 Billion Sunni Muslims but Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said only 50 Million would join the ranks to fight for the final Islamic state! 50 Million troops fighting for Khilafa is barely 3% of Muslims so take a deep breath.. We are just getting started! The Islamic state is now bigger than Jordan and UK... The recruitment continues! Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16

That group could be another creation of the U.S. Remember they lied about Al Qaeda and Taliban for decades that they were created by Islamic organization Those videos could be false, those videos could be true. So on that ground I cannot say yes/no.

The Holy Prophet (Pbuh) said: “Before the last day you will be split up into groups of armies. An army will be in Al-shaam (Syria, Palestine, Lebanon & Jordan), an army in Iraq, and an army in Yemen.” Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16
